In a pretty spot 1 mile from Tintagel, this three-bedroom lodge gives a family or group of friends a wonderful base for exploring North Cornwall together. It’s in a holiday park surrounded by the green countryside of the Cornwall National Landscape, with nearby outings to suit both energetic and easy-going days. Head down the path and steep steps opposite to join the South West Coast Path, which leads to the local beach (0.5 miles). Tintagel is a flat walk from the park, with cafés, bakeries, pubs and shops along its lively main street. From there, visit Tintagel Castle (1.5 miles) for its dramatic setting and Arthurian connections. St Nectan’s Glen (1.5 miles) offers a different kind of scenery, with woodland paths leading to its waterfalls. There’s plenty to tempt you along the coast too, like the fishing village of Port Isaac (11 miles) and Polzeath (15 miles).
On arrival, cross a gravelled section and climb a few steps to reach the lodge’s decking. Inside, neutral décor with splashes of colour gives the open-plan living space a cheerful and welcoming feel. Dual-aspect windows bring in plenty of light, while the apex ceiling adds to the sense of space. There’s plenty of seating for relaxing around the TV, along with a rug where your dog can stretch out nearby. There’s a dining table for sitting down to shared meals. For sleeping, you’ll have a double bedroom with ensuite shower room and two twin rooms. A family bathroom has a bath with an overhead shower and WC.
If the weather’s nice, take food and drinks outside to the generous, enclosed decking, equipped with furniture for eating in the fresh air while you enjoy the surrounding views. Your private hot tub is here too, ready for a soak when you return from exploring.
