It makes a welcoming base for a family or couples keen to explore North Cornwall, with countryside around the park and the beach 0.5 miles away. Tintagel is an easy, level walk away, and has a bustling main street with cafés, bakeries, pubs, restaurants and shops. For the beach, follow the path across the road towards Bossiney Cove (0.5 miles). At low tide, you can explore the rock pools and spot Elephant Rock (be prepared for steep steps down the cliff). Walkers can join the South West Coast Path (500 metres) for wide sea views, or head to St Nectan’s Glen (1.5 miles) to see its waterfalls. Tintagel Castle (1.5 miles) brings a dose of Arthurian legend to a day out.
On arrival at this elegant timber property, park up the car, follow the gravelled path to the lodge, cross the decking and step into an open-plan living space. Dual-aspect windows bring light into the lounge, whose apex further adds to the sense of space. Comfy seating and a Smart TV invite you to relax in the evenings. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, with a dining area opposite for ease when serving up and sharing meals. At bedtime, retire to either the double bedroom or the twin bedroom with 2′6″ beds, which are connected with a Jack and Jill shower room with WC.
Outside, an enclosed, fenced deck wraps around the lodge, providing a peaceful spot to dine alfresco or unwind in the hot tub – a real treat if you’ve been on your feet all day. There’s parking for one car directly outside.
