Take a step back in time with a visit to Morwellham Quay (11.5 miles), a historic village hosting reenactments of traditional life around the copper mining industry, where you can even take a train ride into the old mines themselves. The port city of Plymouth is 12 miles away where you can take a stroll through the historic Barbican area on your way to the fantastic National Marine Aquarium. Of course, you can’t visit Cornwall without a trip to the beach. The sweeping sands of Whitsand Bay are 16 miles from your door, or head to the popular seaside town of Looe (15.5 miles), where pretty streets lined with gift shops, cafes, restaurants and welcoming local pubs lead down to a wide sandy beach.
