Sleeping eight people across four bedrooms, it's perfect for families or groups who are searching for a chic beach house sitting just ten metres from the sand. Widemouth Bay offers consistent Atlantic swells, so grab your board and kick off your day among the waves. Alternatively, head into Bude (3.5 miles) to go coasteering or kayaking. While you’re there, take a dip in its the natural tidal pool at Summerleaze Beach. In the evening, come home to fire up the air hockey table for a tournament, before you head outside to spend a little quality time soaking in the hot tub under the Cornish sky.
Pull into your private parking spot (there’s space for two cars) and make your way to your beachy retreat’s upper-floor entrance. Inside you’ll find a large, light-filled open-plan living space with sofas, armchairs and a chic dining area, and doors that open out onto a wonderful balcony with unobstructed sea views. Head down to the ground floor and you’ll find a fabulous cinema/games’ room with a Smart TV, air hockey, pool table and bar, that opens out onto the courtyard and the hot tub. Down to the lower-ground floor – please note there are several steps between the upper and lower bedroom levels - the master king-size bedroom has sea views and a sliding door leading to the courtyard, as well as an en-suite with a bath and a shower. A second king-size bedroom, which also with sea views and courtyard access, has its own en-suite shower room. On the upper-ground floor, you’ll find a super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (can be arranged as a twin on request) and a chalet bunk room (double base with single above). Both have en-suite shower rooms. In the morning, wake up and head out onto the lawn for a game of croquet, and after a day riding the waves, dine alfresco at your retreat’s outdoor dining area.
Head straight out onto Widemouth Bay (ten metres) and take your pick: hire a surf board, take a lesson, or make yourself at home in the beach cafe. The glorious South West Coast Path passes the front gate, so set off along this extraordinary clifftop trail to the wild shingle beach at Millook Haven (2 miles), or push on to the sheltered cove at Crackington Haven (5.5 miles) where a village pub provides a well-earned lunch stop.
