This contemporary, two-bedroom lodge stands in open countryside in rural Cornwall, part of a park that's set equidistant from the north and south coasts, with far-reaching views towards The Lizard. It's well suited to couples and small families who want beach days, surfing and swimming with a quiet, inland base. Stithians Lake Activities Centre, 2 miles away, draws windsurfers, paddleboarders and kayakers, while the maritime town of Falmouth, 9.5 miles away, boasts shops, restaurants, a working harbour and boats running sea safari excursions along the coast. Galleries, boutiques and seafood restaurants dot the cobbled streets of St Ives, 17 miles away, with several beaches within walking distance of the town centre: a great day trip for all ages. The rugged Southwest Coast Path, less than 10 miles away, traces cliffs and hidden coves, while hiking, cycling and horse-riding trails thread through the landscape closer to the lodge.
A spacious, open-plan kitchen, dining and living area runs almost the width of the lodge, with French doors at the far end opening onto the deck so the view comes indoors and the high-ceilinged room is full of light. Sofas gather cosily at one end around a wood-burner-effect electric fire, while the dining table sits close enough to the kitchen that whoever is cooking stays part of the conversation. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with a breakfast bar for morning coffee or daytime snacking. A short hallway leads from the living space through to the bedrooms. The stylish master bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower and WC. Next door, the second bedroom is arranged as a twin, though the two beds can be made up as a double by arrangement; please request this at least 4 days before arrival. Across the hall, the family bathroom is a generous size, with a shower over the bath and WC.
The decked area faces south, perfect for long, sunny days, and comes with a gas BBQ and room for al fresco dining. Facilities shared with other guests on the development include a children's play area and a wildflower meadow. Dogs are welcome, and parking is available on site.
