Newly built for 2026, this superb, dog-friendly lodge is an inspiring getaway for couples or families looking to spend days on the beach and enjoy coastal adventures. Set in a boutique complex of similar properties in a wooded valley, it’s on the outskirts of the popular coastal village of Porthtowan, just 0.5 miles from all its amenities. The beach itself is spectacular, a vast sandy space when the tide is out that’s perfect for games, with a tidal pool and favourable waves that are much loved by surfers. If you fancy having a go, there are several surf schools based here. There are also caves and rock pools to explore, and a children’s play park at the top of the beach. For day trips, you could take little ones to pet the farm animals at Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm (6.5 miles) or pan for gold at Cornwall Gold (2.5 miles).
Enter via a level path to the decking at the side of the lodge, or take the steps to the main deck, and stroll into the open-plan living accommodation. Bright and inviting, it features charming, rustic touches and is furnished with great style and attention to detail. The space has a wood burner at its heart, surrounded by soft seating – perfect for gathering in chilly weather or after a long day in the waves. There’s also a Smart TV for streaming cartoons, movies or your favourite box sets. Whipping up delicious meals is straightforward in the spacious kitchen, which includes a microwave and a dishwasher for your convenience, and you can gather round the generous dining table to enjoy your food or perhaps set up a family game. The super-king-size bedroom boasts an elegant en-suite shower room and is a tranquil retreat in itself. It is complemented by a twin (or super-king-size on request) bedroom that has use of a delightful bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Throw open the glazed double doors and step onto your private deck, sheltered with a glass canopy and featuring your very own hot tub. No matter what the weather is doing, you can sip a morning coffee and listen to the birdsong, dine alfresco or sink into the warm bubbles and look up at the night sky. The deck overlooks your lawned garden, which has a charcoal BBQ and room for youngsters to play. There’s also a side deck with a heated outdoor shower – ideal for rinsing off the sand before heading inside. If you’re bringing your own beach gear, an outdoor cupboard is provided for storing wetsuits, surfboards and body boards. You’ll also have parking spaces for two cars, making arrivals and departures easy.
