The Cove Cafe

Not many Hayle restaurants have a better view than the one from the Cove Café, which is tucked into the rocks above Riviere Towans, part of Hayle’s 3-mile-long beach. Owned and run by Rupert Cooper of the Philleigh Way Cookery School, this is beach dining at its finest. Simple, wholesome dishes with big flavours are served at breakfast, brunch, and lunch, with occasional evening events too. The Old Forge, Lelant

This charming Hayle restaurant bistro offers simple, flavourful food influenced by chef Michael Antonini’s Italian background. Trevaskis Farm, just 3 miles outside Hayle, is an excellent organic produce shop and a farm park with lots of cute animals. Its restaurant is a locals’ favourite, making use of fruit and veg from the farm, meat from its own butchers, and is also renowned for its generous portions and jaw-dropping dessert counter.

Angarrack Inn

Travel just 1.5 miles from Hayle to find the family-owned Angarrack Inn, a pretty pub that dates back to 1765. Said to be named after a gruesome discovery when a body fell down the pub’s well (or more likely that the water was tainted by tin deposits in the soil), The Bucket of Blood is a traditional Cornish pub serving hearty, classic dishes and St Austell ales, with regular live music adding a fun atmosphere.

The Red River Inn

Just 3 miles outside Hayle in the village of Gwithian, the Red River Inn is a pretty pub with gorgeous rural views.
