The largest of four gorgeous courtyard barn conversions on ancient Treworgey manor estate, 3 miles north of Liskeard, this impressive property has 110 acres of pasture, woodland and streams around it guaranteeing rural peace and plenty of wildlife. Excellent leisure facilities are shared with the other cottage properties: a tennis court, games room, and outdoor heated swimming pool (available end of May to mid September). It's a great base for exploration of southeast Cornwall – Bodmin Moor for walking and horse trekking, and the South Cornish coast with beaches and pretty fishing villages.
You'll revel in fine, spacious accommodation in a country-house style with a set of unique features: the green-bordered, tree-lined driveway welcomes you; the enormous living room, with plenty of comfy lounging space and cosy open fire, has a full sized snooker table at one end; timber beamed ceilings reveal the traditional building structure; and outside, the enclosed garden with patio is the perfect place to sip cocktails and listen to the evening birdsong. Tennis racquets and balls will be available for use on the tennis courts but guests are asked to bring their own where possible.
For a picturesque seaside harbour village with fine dining on offer, head to Polperro through lush lanes and steeply wooded valleys, or for a beach day in a secluded cove, Lansallos Beach is perfect for a picnic – both are 15 miles away. For exhilarating hill-walking on Bodmin Moor, you can climb Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest peak, or try the circular walk from Bolventor 8 miles away, followed by drinks at romantic Jamaica Inn. Several riding stables in the area offer equestrian activities for all levels of experience.
