Description

The Old Chapel, previously a mid-19th century Methodist chapel, has been sympathetically converted to accentuate the original features whilst providing a comfortable and relaxing space. Offering a unique experience, The Old Chapel boasts grandeur with a delightful mix of old and new. The restored, original, arched chapel windows and the Scandinavian woodburner form the focal point of the spacious open-plan living area and reflect the chapel's history and illuminate the open plan ground floor, providing a bright and stylish environment. The mezzanine level offers another viewpoint of The Old Chapel where you can sit back and admire the inspired architecture or just relax, enjoy a book and gaze out through the Juliet balcony to the rolling countryside views.

Ideally situated for walking the coast path with close proximity to a range of amazing walks to explore the picturesque coastal scenery on the Penwith Peninsula and the surrounding towns and villages steeped in local history.  The owners of The Old Chapel are keen walkers themselves and have produced a guide to 12 fabulous walks for their guests to try.

Take your pick of the outstanding beaches or enjoy a day walking some of the best stretches of the South West Coast Path in Cornwall. Reviews

A beautifully presented property with wonderful facilities. The Cream tea was a lovely touch and much enjoyed. Even had milk in fridge which was also a lovely surprise!

Mr F,

Recommended; Hayle golf, St Ives, Penzance Tennis Club, Alverne Restaurant. Ace location to circumnavigate the Penwith Peninsula from. Otters, choughs, seals, birds etc. Watching England get to the finals of the Euros was historic too. Lovely building! The Stewarts...2 wks to 9th July 2021

Past Customer,

The Askham family 9th to 14th July 2021 Recommend; Zennor Headland walk, Tinners Arm garden for lunch-biggest and best crab sandwich! Newlyn for seafood-usually use Harveys but parking too difficult. Other suppliers great. Penzance-lots of hidden gems! What a beautiful and restful place. We have loved staying here. Its the only place we`ve ever stayed where the kitchen has been properly equipped for real cooking. Thank you for that. We have had a lovely time down here, and were very glad to have chosen the Lizard. Shocked by crowds further north and increase in traffic. we were thrilled to see a sea eagle (so rare and the first only spotted in Cornwall last year) at Zennor Head.

Past Customer,

Map

The Old Chapel is located in a small village surrounded by open countryside. Conveniently located and within easy access to all the beautiful beaches and attractions on the Penwith Peninsula and Land's End. It truly is a walker's paradise with spectacular walks along the breathtaking coast path and not forgetting the inland walks steeped in history.

The historic port of Penzance is nearby, well known for being the most westerly major town in Cornwall. The town has an abundance of palm trees and sub-tropical gardens located throughout, a sure sign that you have arrived somewhere truly special, made even more distinctive by the sight of St Michael's Mount out to sea.

Take a stroll along the town's streets and discover the characteristic pubs, top notch restaurants, antique shops, art galleries and more or have a wander along the promenade, grab some fish and chips and sit on the seafront. If you fancy something a bit different, enjoy one of the harbour boat trips, sea safaris or fishing excursions.

The fantastic beaches of Perranuthnoe, Lamorna Cove, Kenneggey Sands and Praa Sands are all located nearby.
