An inspiring sumptuous cottage in Newlyn for creative souls, let Orchard cottage seduce your wanderlust and take you on a journey down to one of Cornwall’s best working fishing harbours and feel your tension slip away as you walk through the doors and carry in the salty sea air. This dramatic self-catering cottage by the sea is blissfully tucked away above the harbour, commanding breathtaking sea views of Newlyn and across Mount's Bay and is sure to delight all of its guests. There is no escaping the holiday vibe at Orchard Cottage; from walking barefoot along the beach below to reading in one of the many cosy nooks with the log burner crackling in the background and a cocktail of choice in hand. Perfect for families and groups of friends who love to entertain, with a large kitchen/diner and plenty of outside dining space for warm evenings.
Newlyn is home to one of the largest fishing fleets in the United Kingdom, with over 40 acres of harbour. All sorts of fishing vessels can be seen in the harbour - beam trawlers, long liners, crabbers and even small open boats used for handlining for mackerel in the Bay. It is worth rising early to visit the bustling Fish Market and to see the fish being sold. The Newlyn Fish Festival is held on August Bank Holiday Monday each year, when stalls and cafés take over the quays for the day. Next to Newlyn Green recreational area on the seafront is the Newlyn Art Gallery. It was designed built in 1895 to display the works of the Newlyn School artists and today the gallery has a society whose members produce much only contemporary work.
Enjoy day trips to Lands End, Flambards and the Cornish Seal Sanctuary and return home to your very own slice of Cornish heaven.

Wonderful holiday cottage with outstanding views over Newlyn fishing harbour, three generations of our family absolutely loved the luxurious but relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic base for exploring the far end of Cornwall. Very well equipped cottage with lots of original artwork, a week wasn’t long enough, would definitely recommend it. The garden was quite steep but interesting, enclosed and dog friendly. Lovely welcome tray and flowers on arrival too, which was much appreciated.
Outstanding property in a stunning location. ABC team always helpful and friendly. We love West Cornwall, there is so much to do and see.
Orchard Cottage is a very special house in a truly lovely position with stunning views overlooking Newlyn harbour and Mount's Bay. On clear days you can see right over to the Lizard Peninsula. The property is to a very high standard of interior decor, soft furnishings and equipment. It’s like staying in a boutique hotel only better as its all just for you. The house has a calm and peaceful vibe and has obviously been a much loved family home for many years. Newlyn is a great place, still lived in by Cornish people, not just tourists. Quite a hub, but still peaceful and quaint. The evening light on the fishing boats each night is magical.
Orchard Cottage is an amazing property for a family gathering - superbly equipped, immaculately clean, spacious and with the most amazing views of Newlyn, St Michael's Mount and Mount's Bay. Highly recommended!
The property is an absolute gem, and we loved our stay there.
The property is excellent, it more than exceeded our expectations and we were absolutely delighted with it. It is beautifully fitted and very comfortable.
Very Happy with the layout of the property, Big property nice place to stay with the whole family.
Newlyn is a bustling fishing village nestled in between Mousehole and Penzance in western Cornwall. The village has its roots in pilchard fishing, with its historic harbour dating all the way back to 1435. Still a busy port today with an array of different kinds of fishing vessels, the fish market on the quayside is well worth a visit and there are lots of outlets selling fish and seafood. The Newlyn Fish Festival is held every August on the bank holiday with plenty of seafood to sample, cookery demonstrations and music.
Newlyn was also home to a school of painters who were drawn to the Cornish town by the light and the beauty of the scenery. Why not visit the Newlyn Art Gallery on Newlyn Green near the sea front?
Newlyn has a small selection of shops, galleries, pubs and cafes. Ben Tunnicliffe's the Tolcarne, an 18th century inn, is a prime example of Cornish cuisine. and a Michelin Bib Gourmand award holder since 2013.
The fantastic beaches of Perranuthnoe, Lamorna Cove, Kenneggy Sands and Praa Sands are all located nearby.
