No. 8 is a penthouse apartment on the third floor of St Catherine’s Court located on the stunning Esplanade just moments from Readymoney Cove and the South West Coast Path. Whilst there are several flights of stairs to climb, once inside this gorgeous apartment you’ll be wowed in more ways than one. With the most spectacular views from the balcony there’s so much to catch your eye. The river is a hive of activity during the year and with glorious open sea views one way and estuary views the other, enjoying a cool glass of fizz watching the sun go down will be a pleasure.
Styled in a boutique hotel fashion, soft velvet fabrics and a vivid palette of colours create focal points of interest and the panoramic vista is to die for! Two sophisticated bedrooms offer comfortable beds and soft linen whilst the two contemporary bathrooms give you a choice of bathing options. The en suite to the master bedroom has a spacious shower or you may choose to relax in the contemporary bath after your busy day out enjoying the coast. If you haven't yet discovered Fowey, you've got a treat in store. Full of multicoloured cottages, perched on the hillsides leading down to the sea, this little fishing town has lots to tempt visitors.
There is an entrancing collection of unique local shops and boutiques, along with harbourside cafes, pubs which will give you a hearty welcome and a good atmosphere, and restaurants offering tempting local produce. If you want a unique insight into the local species in these waters, you could visit Fowey Aquarium, whose residents include specimens brought in by local fishermen.
If you're a fan of Daphne du Maurier, you may want to visit the Literary Centre, which gives information and exhibits about the author and her life and work. There is also the Fowey Festival of Words and Music, held in May, in which du Maurier, and many other authors, artists and musicians, are celebrated. Another great spectacle is the Fowey Royal Regatta, held in August.
Fowey lies within one of the many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Cornwall, and the backdrop of the surrounding countryside, with its tidal creeks, rolling fields and rugged cliffs, will make you want to return here again and again.
