What an amazing property, it is quirky, lovingly restored, so spacious and really well equipped. If you want ultra modern this is not it, but a fabulous unique home. Absolutely loved it. We hope to return.

This would appear to be a listed building due to its age and as such has a very steep narrow access driveway which takes some skill to negotiate with two allocated parking spaces only. I would say that the word authentic would describe the property. It is warm with open fire/log burner. It has all modern equipment but as above some single glazing wRead moreithin the property. My wife and I love this property. We have stayed twice now and will be booking again next time we visit Cornwall. It is cosy, full of character and just a couple of minutes walk from the harbour. The open fire is lovely, the main bedroom is a good size with a super king bed and the kitchen is well equipped.

Great house in excellent location, easy walk to harbour and pubs. Kitchen has loads of equipment and plenty of crockery, glasses for everyone. Welcome pack of dish cloth, dishwasher tablets, washing liquid supplied. Beds very comfortable, note there is no toilet upstairs, whoever uses the top bedroom will need to come downstairs to the bathroom. ReRead moreal fire in lounge which we used every day, no matches had been left though. Driveway is narrow but we had a large estate car and had no problem getting it down there, this is Cornwall and the lanes are narrow in places anyway so just be prepared. Had a few great afternoons in The Ship, a lovely old local pub and a lovely roast in the Harbour Inn. Atlantic pub was also very friendly. Great walks out to Gunwalloe across The Loe Bar and the other way out toward Rinsey Head. Hide

We had a wonderful stay at Torleven House - we found it to be clean, cosy yet spacious, well-stocked with kitchen equipment, and literally two minutes from the harbour and all the shops / eateries. Easily one of the best rentals we have had in the UK. Porthleven itself is lovely and there are plenty of places to visit nearby. Some reviewers have meRead morentioned the narrow driveway - we didnt find it an issue, and if you are going to drive around Cornwall, you will encounter roads narrower and steeper than this! As for noise from the upstairs flat (another rental), we barely heard them and have nothing to report. All-in-all, we would highly recommend Torleven House for a family stay. Hide
