On the outskirts of Padstow at Harlyn Bay, Porghelly is a warm and cosy cottage in a very quiet location, with all the comforts of home including WiFi and central heating, plenty of parking and sea views from the kitchen and lounge windows! The cottage is a pleasant 10-minute level walk to Harlyn Bay which has a fantastic beach for all the family and is dog friendly all year round. Alternatively, there is plenty more to explore with Mother Ivy's Bay, Booby's Bay and Constantine Bay all approx. a 20-minute enjoyable level walk away. All of the local beaches are excellent for surfing, bodyboarding and swimming. Padstow and St Merryn are less than a 10-minute drive and Trevose Golf & Country Club (open to non-members) with its restaurant and swimming pool is less than a 2 minute drive. There is a corner shop and pub by the beach at Harlyn, a chip shop, pubs, bakery, restaurant, cafés and other shops at St Merryn and a larger supermarket at Padstow plus lots of other interesting shops, pubs etc. Peaceful Harlyn makes a great base, to explore all of the wider area from!

I would highly recommend Porghelly Cottage, which is very well-equipped and located in a lovely area. There is a choice of beautiful sandy beaches within easy reach and it is in very close proximity to Padstow with its amenities and choice of long walks, particularly the Camel Trail. There are also several dog-friendly pubs in the local vicinity which provide good food at reasonable prices.
Had everything and more that you needed for a self catering break. There wasn’t anything that hadn’t been thought of. Even down to Christmas decorations to use.
Brilliant location, and lovely property.
Harlyn Bay has plenty on offer for all its visitors, whether you want a traditional family beach holiday, a more active break including surfing and walking, or just a relaxing break. The beach is dog-friendly, which means that canine visitors can holiday with their families, and the cliffs either side are excellent for walkies! The beach is considered one of the most family friendly beaches in the area, with plenty of space for building sandcastles and paddling. If the kids (and those who are still young at heart!) want to try learning to surf, there are several local companies who offer lessons, and the whole family can give it a try. Nearby is The Harlyn Inn, which offers good food and a welcoming atmosphere, and is also a venue for live music, with bands playing throughout the year. There is a small local shop in Harlyn Bay, and more shops, pubs and a good choice of restaurants in nearby St Merryn. The Bay is also within a short drive of Padstow, which also has a good selection of pubs and restaurants, and of course the Camel Trail, where you can hire bikes and cycle to Wadebridge, and on to Bodmin if you're up for it.
