Retallack Aqua Park, near Padstow

The Retallack Aqua Park is just a 15-minute drive from the pretty harbour town of Padstow. Here, you can test out the ‘total wipeout’ themed, inflatable assault course, featuring a slide, trampoline and catapult! Sessions last an hour and there are picnic benches dotted around the lake as well as a cafe area which is a dog-friendly zone. The aqua park is suitable for fun-seekers aged six and over who can confidently swim at least 25 metres. Children aged 11 and under need to be supervised by an adult booked into the session. Wetsuits and buoyancy aids are provided (check the terms and required adult/child ratio on the website).

Wanna surf like a pro? Check out Cornwall’s only Flowrider! Surfers need to be at least eight years old and 107cm tall and be adult-supervised. Again, sessions last an hour. If you fancy skimming across the lake on a towed-ringo, rides last 15 minutes and for those aged six and over. There’s a maximum of two people per ringo, with a maximum of four participants per timeslot.

If you want to feel the adrenalin, wakeboarding sessions start with land-based coaching before you’re whisked off to the lake, kitted out in safety gear of course. Thrill-seekers need to be eight years and over and sessions are bookable in twenty-minute segments. But if calm and serene is more your holiday style, you can book a 45-minute standup paddleboarding session, available for those aged eight years and older. All activities can be booked online.

This Cornwall water park is another one of our must-visit Cornwall attractions! As the name suggests, at 440 feet long, this inflatable slip-and-slide is ginormous and heralds the title of the UK’s longest slip-and-slide! Based just off of the A39, near Winnards Perch, near St Columb, the attraction is set in a field in open countryside with ample parking on-site, at no additional charge.

Hoops, rings and bodyboards are provided for extra launch-power and there are four waterslide lanes to choose from. You can also opt to book private lanes if there are lots of you, or if you’re planning a birthday party for example. You can hire a wetsuit or bring your own if you choose, though they’re not essential. To participate, slide-riders must be five years old to ride solo, be water-confident and able to swim. Little ones under four years old can ride for free with a paying adult.

In 2023, the team launched its popular side attraction: Water Pistol Battle Park – the perfect place to indulge in some healthy family competition. Battles are booked in 45-minute slots, with equipment provided. As a heads-up, there are portaloos on site and well-behaved dogs are allowed to come along with you but should be kept on a lead.
