The 12 best restaurants in St Agnes

Katherine Sorrell 14 April 2026

The rugged and beautiful coastline around St Agnes (or ‘Aggie’ as it’s affectionately known), 10 miles southwest of Newquay, is rich in dramatic, natural scenery with an extraordinary mining history. Fans of Winston Graham’s Poldark books will recognise the derelict stone wheelhouses that colonise the local landscape. The picturesque village itself manages to be both unspoilt and thriving, and boasts a sandy, family-friendly beach as well as a small variety of independent shops and galleries.

A surprising number of places to eat and drink can be found here. While you wander you’ll come across everything from international cuisine to cream teas and other Cornish dishes. Whether you fancy a pint in a welcoming pub, a takeaway pizza or some fresh, local seafood, our guide to restaurants in St Agnes will help you find something to satisfy your appetite.

With its combination of coastal scenery, fascinating heritage and foodie offerings, St Agnes is an irresistible base for a memorable Cornish escape. Now’s the time to book one of our high-quality, self-catering cottages and experience it for yourself.
