The characterful cottage sits on the edge of the quaint village of Porkellis, within easy reach of Falmouth (5 miles) and Porthleven (8 miles). The holiday home welcomes five guests and makes a delightful bolthole for both families and groups of friends seeking a coastal break in West Cornwall. Nearby days out include Pendennis Castle (9.5 miles) and the Lizard Peninsula (8 miles).
The stone cottage features beautiful ceiling beams and exposed stonework. The lounge/diner is a sociable space to relax after a day of adventure, with plump sofas set around a TV and ornamental fireplace. To the rear of the room is a large dining table to seat everyone. The separate kitchen is bright and airy and has all the equipment required to rustle up hearty breakfasts and delicious dinners. Upstairs, you’ll find three inviting bedrooms, all decorated in calming, neutral tones. The double bedroom has an en-suite shower room, and the twin bedroom has a cot, making it ideal for families with young children. There is also a single bedroom and a family bathroom on this level. Outside, soak up the Cornish sunshine on the patio as you enjoy an al fresco meal. From the patio, steps lead to a ‘secret’ garden with a lawn and shady spots for picnics. There is private parking for one car. Please note, the cottage is reached via uneven, granite steps.
Falmouth is a thriving harbour town and holds many regattas and maritime events throughout the year. Boat trips are available from the quay and pier, and the town has an excellent array of seafood restaurants. Falmouth has long been a hub for creatives, and you’ll find galleries and studios dotted throughout the town. The wild and rugged coastline around Porthleven is perfect for those wanting to get away from it all. Enjoy breathtaking scenery and wildlife watching opportunities on walks to Loe Pool or through the National Trust’s Penrose Estate.
