Watergate Bay Beach is 250 metres away, where incoming Atlantic swell creates reliable conditions for surfing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and kite surfing – a surf school on the beach offers lessons in all four. The South West Coast Path passes through the bay, connecting to Newquay's beaches in one direction and Mawgan Porth in the other, with routes for both long rambles and shorter loops along the cliff tops. Beachfront restaurants and cafes sit above the sand, and surf competitions and music festivals run throughout the year, adding to the lively atmosphere.
