A cosy cottage on the north Cornwall coast, this romantic retreat is made for two (plus their furry friends). It has a sumptuous king-size bed, a cosy wood burner, and an enclosed patio with country views. There’s coarse fishing on-site, beautiful sandy beaches nearby and the trendy town of Newquay just 4 miles away.
Traditional and contemporary features have been imaginatively combined in this converted dairy on a small working farm and holiday park. You’ll find exposed beams, slate flooring, a comfy sofa, and a cosy wood burner in the open-plan living space. Enjoy your culinary creations at the dining table or take your plates outside to dine al fresco. Up the wooden staircase is the king-size bedroom, where you can watch TV under the covers. There are gorgeous, exposed beams and a high ceiling, and the en-suite shower room next door. The patio is a real sun trap if you fancy having a BBQ or a glass of wine overlooking nearby fields.
There’s coarse fishing in the three lakes on-site. Head to the coast 1.5 miles away to wander on the golden sands or carry on along the stunning South West Coast Path to explore the scenery and wildflowers on the headlands. Newquay and the coastline are known for surfing, it’s also brilliant for all sorts of beach games and water sports, including kite surfing, kayaking and paddleboarding. You’ll find lots of places to hang out and eat out in Newquay or treat yourselves to a romantic meal in Padstow 12 miles away. The Eden Project – known as the ‘global garden’ – is 16 miles away, home to the largest indoor rainforest in the world. There are also several impressive National Trust properties in the area, including the stunning 16th-century manor house at Trerice (6.5 miles away).
