Christmas Festivals in Cornwall
Christmas in Cornwall is a truly magical time. Little fishing towns and villages festooned with coloured lights that sparkle on the water in the harbours, markets brimming with local produce; sweets and treats, ales, ciders, cheese and wine. Carols ringing round the streets with local bands and entertainers delighting the crowds.
Even if you don’t come down for Christmas itself, there’s no need to miss out on all the fun and festive fair on offer!
Cornwall is host to some pretty awesome Christmas festivals, markets and events happening throughout December. Whether you pop down for a week’s rest and relaxation or just a few days away shopping, why not visit one of the many events going on in the run up to Christmas.
With small food producers thriving in Cornwall, an abundance of local, fresh ingredients and a flare for doing things a little differently, the food stalls at the markets are something to behold. Plenty offering free samples so you can try before you buy!
The Cornish love a good old singsong and this spirit is out in force at the Christmas Festivals. With bands playing and choirs singing, there is plenty of planned entertainment but also impromptu rounds of carols or accordion players visiting each shop means there is always music in the air!
Many events and markets have spectacular fireworks to round off the festivities with a bang!
When not enjoying the delights of the festivals and fairs, why not partake in the obligatory invigorating cliff top walk or bracing beach stroll? Blowing away the cobwebs followed, naturally, by a well earned stop in a local pub!
