Celebrating thousands of Cornish oysters and showcasing the best in local entertainment, The Rock Oyster Festival is not to be missed this upcoming July.
Held near the picturesque village of Padstow, this year’s festival on the 10th and 11th of July is ready to convince you to put a holiday in Cornwall on your travel calendar. The event is a one-of-a-kind Cornish experience that helps give you a taste of all of its great summer treats and is only a short drive from a selection of our luxury holiday cottages.
Launched in 2010, The Rock Oyster Festival has become one of the highlights in Cornwall. Great music, fresh oysters and seafood, as well as the best in local produce, make this an event not to be missed. The festival finds its home on the amazing grounds of the 17th century Dinham House, and the entire event overlooks the Camel Estuary between Padstow and Wadebridge.
The festival offers the best in locally-sourced food – from shellfish to beef and lots more. There are cooking demonstrations, oyster shucking contests and plenty of family-themed entertainment awaiting visitors.
It celebrates the history of the region that is steeped in the fishing trades, but it also highlights the area’s rich cultural and musical past. Event organisers have tried to bring an eclectic range of musical artists to entertain you whilst you enjoy the event.
Musical acts scheduled to appear include:
- Bristol-based D&B sensation Dr Meaker
- Land of Giants from Plymouth
- The Anglo-French collective, The Night VI
- Singer-songwriter Josh Savage
- Local singer Josh Curnow
- And many, many more
There are several types of tickets to attend the event. Adult (17+ years) tickets for the event are £28, older children (aged 12-16 years) priced at £19, and younger children (aged 4-11 years) are priced at £8.
