Description

Unique, quirky, romantic, idyllic, magical – these are all words that sum up The Magic House. You may be thinking that you recognise this property, and that is probably because you do! This former pilchard’s cottage is located on Kitty’s Corner in St Ives - one of the most photographed beaches in the UK. Situated directly on the wharf next to Smeaton's Pier, everyone who visits this pretty Cornish town will have undoubtedly taken a picture of The Magic House, and now you have the opportunity to stay there.

The Magic House is the perfect romantic retreat for two and offers a truly rare and unique stay on one of the most recognised beaches in Cornwall. Arranged over three floors, the property oozes character from every corner, with wooden floorboards and thick granite walls to shelter you from the sea. Fully equipped with central heating throughout, the cottage provides a cosy, romantic retreat even in the winter months. The ground floor kitchen has direct access on to the beach, which means you can wake up and dip your toes in the water whilst you sip on your morning brew. As expected, each floor has stunning sea views across the harbour, with a deep window seat on the first floor ideal for reading your favourite book or to simply gaze out to sea. End your evening exploring this creative town with a glass of bubbles in the large roll top bath, accessed from the master bedroom.

The Magic House simply has everything that you need on your doorstep; the beach, fish and chips, restaurants, ice cream shops and the local pub. You can park your car in one of the local car parks nearby and have no need to use it until you pack your bags at the end of your stay. The cosy and unique design of this cottage makes it an ideal stay for a couple or an artist seeking inspiration from this creative town. Reviews

I found the St Ives Holiday team's handling of the booking very good.

Mrs Sorrel S,

The Magic House was in a great location & ever so cosy. I'd go back again!

Miss Tracy M,

Loved this cottage, the fresh flowers made a real difference, very welcoming and would definitely recommend. The team that I dealt with were very efficient and helpful and were a pleasure to deal with. Would definitely recommend them. St Ives was beautiful and the fact the beach was outside the back door was a bonus.

Mrs Anne C,

The Magic House is just that - magic. It’s quaint and quirky, comfortable and cosy, and in a priceless location in the heart of St.Ives. There’s no need to go out - just sit and gaze out of the window. In fact, no need even to get out of bed - you can still enjoy the view!

Mrs Kate A,

Lovely quirky property. Perfect location to walk into town and restaurants.

Miss Samantha D,

We had a lovely long weekend break in this unique property. Perfect location right on the beach but not too close to the noisy bit of the harbour. Perfect size for 2 people and the space has been well used, felt larger than we expected from the property photos.

Mr Sally D,

Map

St Ives is one of Cornwall's top destinations and a beautiful seaside town where visitors can enjoy a traditional beach holiday with a twist. It's easy to understand why the town has been attracting painters, sculptors and ceramists for decades with its stunning scenery and natural quality of light- one of only four Tate Galleries in the world is located here in the heart of the town. The town itself arcs around the working harbour- the heart of the historic fishing community. You could lose yourself for hours in the charming cobbled streets which are crammed with gift and craft shops, art galleries, top notch restaurants and welcoming local pubs- a real treasure trove just waiting to be explored!

St Ives also has four fabulous beaches, Porthmeor, Porthgwidden, Harbour beach and Porthminster which between them offer miles of golden sand and hours of building sand castles, playing in the rock pools and other family friendly activities. Dogs are welcomed out of season. Throughout the year, St Ives has a busy event calendar including the St Ives Food & Drink Festival in May and a Music & Arts Festival in September.
