This contemporary apartment, close to everything in St Ives, makes a perfect coastal retreat for a couple, with amazing views of Porthminster beach from the living area. The property has a king-size bed, a private underground parking space, and is convenient for visiting shops, pubs, and art galleries and the beach, which is just over 150 metres’ away.

With stylish interiors and attractive artworks on the walls, a modern open-plan layout and thoughtful extras, the apartment makes a very comfy home from home. Head down 14 steps to the entrance at the rear and go into the bright and light living space with a lounge and kitchen/dining area. Cuddle up on the L-shaped sofa to watch a good movie or enjoy a drink listening to your favourite tunes (there’s a TV, Blu Ray DVD player, CD player/radio/iPod dock). The contemporary kitchen fits in everything you need, including a dishwasher (there’s a coin operated washing machine in the shared laundry room), and there’s plenty of space for romantic meals at the dining table. The pretty bedroom has a king-size bed, with a TV/DVD player, and the shower room is stunning. There’s also a designated private parking space in the underground car park, 29 steps down from the apartment.

You could leave your car there all week if you want as there’s so much close by. Wander to the beach, a popular swimming spot, and book surfing, sea kayaking, and paddleboarding lessons at the water sports centre on the town side of the sands. Play a round on the 18-hole mini golf course next to the beach and visit any of the many art galleries in the town, which include Tate St Ives (0.6 miles away) and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden (just under 650 metres).

We rent this property annually and in general are very pleased with it. However, the owner needs to action a repair to both the rear bedroom window ( uncloseable for at least 18 months, and now the right hand front window this year which will not open). The bedroom window in particular is a real problem. It will not close and even the slightest of Read morewinds from the rear of the property blows the window open. In high winds the widow is blow right open and the solution of the curtain somehow preventing the window opening just doesnt work. All nights this kept us awake. Not only opening but as you cannot close the window this is a real security risk. The front window is unusable. I expect that the owner is probably waiting on property management to repair the windows but I do think that something urgently needs to be done about it. As I have already said the rear window has been like it for our last two visits. Hide

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at 28 Carrack Widden. Gorgeous views across Porthminster beach and to Hayle. Perfect location, super comfy bed and everything you could wish for was included in the apartment. The secure parking was a real bonus. We can't wait to return.

Lovely apartment. This was my 4th time visiting 28 Carrack Widden. It is a little pricey but I love this apartment. Only downside would be every time I come here there is always sand on the floor. A quick brush around the apartment would stop this.

The property is in a good location with a superb view over Porthminster Beach and the harbour but that hill gets harder as the years tick by??. The main shower did not work, thankfully I am not tall and could use the other part of the shower. Considering I was not allowed to enter the property until after 4pm so that it could be thoroughly cleaned,Read more the work surface had tea stains and the sofa had sand and crumbs on it. Surely it is time for entry into the property can be earlier as it was pre Covid. Hide

Fantastic views and 5 minutes' walk into town and the added bonus its own parking space, which is very rare in St Ives.
