Property code: OC-BRW41

A charming Grade-II listed fisherman’s cottage in the heart of beautiful St Ives, this property offers a lovely base from which to explore wild West Cornwall. The traditional, stone-built holiday home sleeps three guests and is perfect for a small family or group of friends. Located in the area known as Downalong, it is less than 200 metres from glorious Porthmeor Beach. Shops, restaurants and the harbour are within easy reach and there is an allocated place for one car in the railway station car park, a 0.5-mile walk away. Please note, the property is unsuitable for young children.

A flight of stone steps leads up to the front door and the first floor of this cosy cottage. Beautifully furnished in soft neutral tones and wood, it retains original features such as ceiling beams and areas of exposed stonework. The open-plan lounge has comfortable seating, with a well-planned kitchen/diner at one end of the open-plan space and there is also a bathroom with a shower. On the second floor, there are two pretty bedrooms: a double and a single. While there is no outside space, Porthmeor‘s vast expanse of sand and wonderful walks along the coast path are both moments away.

St Ives is renowned for its beauty and four golden beaches. The historic fishing town’s famous natural light has attracted artists for more than a century. There’s a wealth of art and craft galleries to see in its narrow, cobbled streets and one of the UK’s four Tate galleries overlooks Porthmeor Beach. Visit the Geevor Tin Mine Museum (11 miles) to discover the history of Cornish mining in this rugged landscape. The mine is little changed since it closed 33 years ago, and you can explore the cramped tunnels hewn by men and boys 200 years ago.

Perfect location 1 minute walk from harbour on one side and the beach on the other. Beautiful cottage and the car parking space was a real bonus.

Charming two bedroom cottage with double bedroom and single bedroom, well equipped and well heated in the colder months. An allocated car parking space in the station car park is a particularly attractive feature.

The cottage was beautiful, it was well laid out and in an excellent location to the beaches. A lovely artisan shop virtually over the road. Would return again.
