An elegant property, forming part of a converted Methodist chapel in the hamlet of Rinsey, is ideal for a couple looking for a tranquil rural escape. Surrounded by scenic countryside and close to the South West Coast Path and picture-postcard Rinsey Cove (0.5 miles), with its restored engine house at the top of the cliffs, this is a great base to explore the Lizard Peninsula and the west coast of Cornwall.

This gorgeous two-storey, traditional granite house is a lovely place to relax and unwind. The spacious and light interior is stylishly decorated and furnished with a contemporary cottage style. On the ground floor is the kitchen/diner, which has a farmhouse feel and all the appliances you need to easily cook a romantic meal to share at the dining table. Stairs lead to the first floor, and here you’ll find the living room, bathed in natural light and boasting comfortable sofas and armchairs to relax in after a day of exploring and a TV. There are lovely countryside views and distant glimpses of the coast. There is also a bathroom and a king-size bedroom on this floor. Outside is a garden with a lawned area and a paved patio with a garden table and chairs, perfect for enjoying a breakfast or dinner on fine days.

Praa Sands (3 miles) is a village and beach famous for its fantastic waves and glorious mile-long white sandy beach. It is a popular destination for visitors and the perfect place for a relaxing beach holiday. Nearby Hendra Beach is a more secluded and often quieter option. Walkers can enjoy miles of cliff tops and beautiful coves along the South West Coast Path, and St Michael’s Mount (7 miles) and Land’s End (20 miles) remain two of the most iconic places to visit in Cornwall.

  • 1 bedroom - 1 super king-size bed (please advise on booking if you would like this as twin beds)
  • 1 bathroom - shower over bath, WC
  • Kitchen - electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice box, dishwasher, washing machine.
  • TV, DVD player, stereo
  • Please bring your own beach towels
  • Mobile signal is variable
  • Garden with lawn, flower beds and paved patio area with table and chairs
  • Private parking for 1 car

No 1 The Chapel is a very impressive property, ideally situated for both walking and exploring this wonderful part of Cornwall. Directly on the coastal path with beautiful sea views and with easy access to the local beaches of Rinsey, Hendra and Praa. The layout of the property is extremely well thought out, in particular the lounge being tastefullRead morey renovated and on the first floor, affording great sea views. The owners have clearly thought of everything and the kitchen in particular, had all that was needed for our weeks stay, with no need to buy any additional items, so often lacking in other properties. My husband and i have had an extremely relaxing and peaceful week and I'm sure we will return in the near future. Hide

We stayed at 1 The Chapel, for a week in September 2017. It was great value for money, being much cheaper than a lot of other options that we examined and yet lacking nothing that you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen (ground floor) had all we needed for cooking our own meals and the sitting room (upstairs) was bright, clean and well furnishRead moreed. The one double bedroom and bathroom were all we needed. The location is 10 minutes drive from Porthleven, which is gorgeous, or a leisurely 2 hour walk east along the coastal path. It is also a short (10 minute) walk from The Chapel down onto the secluded beach at Rinsey Cove or an hour's walk west to Praa Sands Beach. All in all, The Chapel is perfect, and affordable for the couple who want a base from which to explore west Cornwall. Hide

This comfortable cottage is situated in a very quiet & peaceful location, a perfect position for us, being close to the coastal path & allowing a nice meandering walk to the beach. We had everything we needed both at the cottage & within a reasonable distance or drive, which included a visit to the Minack Theatre, a special dinner at The HarboursidRead moree Refuge in Porthleven (as recommended), another at The Ship Inn in Mawgan, plus numerous invigorating walks. We would have no hesitation in recommending the property to anyone seeking peace & tranquillity. Hide

Lovely, clean and charming Chapel. We love that it has been converted to be used by weary travellers. Had a fantastic, relaxing stay visiting local haunts and the weather wasn't bad either ! We would definitely recommend and may well return ourselves to enjoy some more of the peace and tranquillity of Rinsey.
