Description

Gwylan House really couldn't be any closer to the beautiful harbour of Mousehole and there is also a safe little sandy beach nearby to enjoy. Look out of your bedroom window and watch the water gently lapping against the harbour walls, whilst boats lazily bob around and the fisherman collect their lines.  With a well equipped, modern kitchen and a cosy lounge, you are sure to enjoy your stay here and return time and again to this cottage in the quintessential fishing village of Mousehole.

Mousehole today has retained much of its old world charm and its narrow streets are filled with small shops, galleries and restaurants. Dylan Thomas described the village as the loveliest in England, so you really are somewhere special when you stay here. It's just 8 miles to the Minack Theatre and the beautiful beaches of Porthcurno, so an ideal place for exploring West Cornwall.

Reviews

Gwylan House is a very clean & comfortable cottage with good facilities and a great location on Mousehole harbour. We had a good experience with Cornish Horizons as they pre-empted my questions and provided good and timely information for our stay. A few things to note about Mousehole itself - be prepared for very very tight streets that are not one-way so driving requires some skill. The parking is limited and easiest access to this property is from the North Quay car park. Parking costs £3 per 24 hours and the parking machine only accepts cash. Change is available from the kiosk next to the machine but is only open during the day. The village pub is closed at present (only indoor seating) and there are just a few cafes/restaurants/take-aways which are expensive - although good ! The nearest pub with outdoor searing is The Kings Arms in Paul which is a 15 minute (uphill) walk away. Groceries & other general goods are available from the newsagent but this is not open late. Nearest major supermarkets are in Penzance.

Mr D,

What an utterly wonderful cottage. We've just got back from spending our honeymoon at Gwylan House and it couldn't have been more perfect. The cottage has a wonderful charm about it making it feel properly home from home. Fully equipped with everything you might possibly need for your stay it was simply magical. With lovely personal touches from the owners I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone! We are desperately missing that view from the master bedroom to wake up to!

Previous Customer,

Thank you for a lovely holiday home from home. Everything was perfect. The house is beautiful and we have never stayed anywhere so clean.

Previous Customer,

Wow what a wonderful cottage. We loved it on arrival and cannot fault how well stocked it is with all the equipment and great storage - the best thought out holiday cottage we have stayed in. Fresh and clean too! Mousehole is magical and we had a wonderful New Year here. The local shops and people are lovely. Old town Penzance and The Turks Head pub worth a visit. St Michael's Mounta must as is Fore Street Restaurant & The Ship pub. All the galleries around here are wonderful too.
