Property code: OC-BUMBLE

A delightful granite cottage with wonderful sea views in the picture-postcard village of Mousehole, this property is the perfect base from which to explore beautiful West Cornwall. Sleeping six guests, it is quietly located, yet within easy reach of the harbour beach, cafes and cosy traditional pubs. This lovely holiday home is full of character and most rooms have views across Mount’s Bay. There are more coastal vistas from the pretty terraced gardens to the front and rear of the cottage. Shops in bustling Penzance are within 3 miles, and there are large, sandy beaches at picturesque Marazion (8 miles) and Sennen (7 miles).

Period details such as ceiling beams, exposed granite walls and a splendid inglenook fireplace enhance the property’s charm. The open-plan living/dining/kitchen area is tastefully furnished in soft blue tones, with comfortable seating in front of a cosy wood burner. Upstairs, there is a bathroom and three inviting bedrooms: a king-size, an en-suite double and a twin. The enclosed terraced garden to the front has patio furniture, while the rear houses a raised summerhouse with seating and a spectacular view of the coast to Lizard Point. Please note, there are steep steps in both gardens.

Mousehole’s Rock Pool, a shallow, natural rock formation filled with seawater, is perfect for children. For a touch of luxury, head to the glamorous Jubilee Art Deco lido on the seafront in Penzance; the pool has a section heated by a geothermal well. Penlee House and Gallery in the centre of Penzance is set in splendid sub-tropical gardens and houses a museum of West Cornwall history, with a fine gallery of famous works by the Newlyn School of Artists. A walk or boat ride to St Michael’s Mount in Marazion is a must. The village has cafes, galleries and there is a children’s playground.

An excellent holiday cottage. Spacious - although it might be less so with six people - and very well equipped. A limited number of novels and table games. WiFi is good. Nice welcome with the ingredients of a clotted cream tea. Approach roads are tricky. We left our car in the harbour car park near the cottage - 5 a day, coins only (although the cRead morear park at the other side of the harbour accepts cards.) Roadside parking is limited and can be difficult. A bus goes to Penzance every 15 minutes and you can get buses to other locations from the bus station. I left a book of bus timetables at the cottage. 5 minute walk to the Ship Inn for good food and good beer. Quiz night and music night every week. The Old Coastguard, on the other side of the harbour, is a large pub/ restaurant / hotel. Good garden for dining in good weather. Somewhat pricey. Mousehole is a lovely place and Bumbles serves it well. Hide

The size and layout of the house was perfect, the open plan layout was so nice as we could all be together but not cramped downstairs, and the rooms upstairs were a great size for a week away. It was a fantastic week! Thank you!

We stayed at bumbles for a week and it did not disappoint! The situation on the quieter side of Mousehole is ideal away from the busy harbour but perfectly placed to watch the goings on from afar and a lovely sea view from the front windows. The terrace was a perfect spot for morning coffee and a glass of wine in the evenings to watch the ever chanRead moreging sea and bay right round to St. Michaels mount. We had been previously to Mousehole 15 years ago when my now husband asked me to marry him there. We returned last week with our two children 10 and 8 who thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the harbour and body boarding at the beaches at Sennen and Marazion. The cottage is super comfy and very clean which is a must for us. Beware those with a disability, the elderly or those with young children as the front and rear steps are very steep and we didnt go into the back garden due to this which was a shame. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely return next year. Hide

The Bumble in Mousehole is a very cosy cottage with style and sufficient room for up to 6 guests. It even has two separate bath/shower rooms, one of it ensuite. We felt very comfortable and spent a great time with family/friends. Special feature is the "summer house or shed" behind the cottage, elevated with views over the roof to the sea.
