Description

The Old Stores offers spacious seaside family accommodation for up to eight people in a stone built former store, with a sun trap garden and decking area with roof top views of the sea and St Michael's Mount. Up to two dogs (and their well behaved owners) accepted. Parking for one small car. This character property is close to all the amenities of Marazion and only minutes from the beaches and causeway to the Mount.

The Old Stores is a traditional granite built property which retains many of its original features including an impressive inglenook fireplace with woodburner, beamed ceilings and exposed stonework. The open plan conversion of the ground floor rooms provides a large living space, yet maintains three distinct areas for living dining and cooking. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, one kingsize with a galleried landing, two large bedrooms to the front have zip and link beds enabling them to be configured as kingsize beds or twins. There is a smaller room with two small single beds. The bathroom has a magnificent roll top bath which is believed to have been salvaged from a ship, and there is a separate shower room with second WC. Outside there is a lawned garden with patio and summerhouse from which there are sea and Mount views.

The property is just a few minutes’ walk from the safe sandy beaches of Mount's Bay from where you can look across to St Michael's Mount; surely one of the most incredible seaside views in England. The Old Stores is conveniently located just a two minute walk from Marazion's quaint town centre with its cafes, traditional pubs, high quality restaurants and specialist shops selling crafts produced by local artists.

GROUND FLOOR:
Kitchen: Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge with icebox, dishwasher, second fridge and washing machine in outside utility storeroom.
Lounge: Granite fireplace with woodburner, TV with Freeview, music stack system with radio, CD and cassettes.
Dining Room: Antique dining table and chairs.

FIRST FLOOR:
Bedroom 1: Kingsize bed (5'), chest of drawers, large wardrobe, dressing table, view of the garden.
Bedroom 2: Twin beds (2'6" zip and link, can be linked to form 5' kingsize bed upon request), chest of drawers, wardrobe, view of Fore Street.
Bedroom 3: Twin beds (2'6" zip and link, can be linked to form 5' kingsize bed upon request), chest of drawers, dressing table, hanging storage, view of Fore Street.
Bedroom 4: Twin beds (2'6"), hanging storage, view of Fore Street.
Bathroom: Roll top bath, heated towel rail, basin, WC.
Shower Room: Corner shower cubicle, heated towel rail, basin, WC.

GARDEN & PARKING: The good sized enclosed garden has a lawned area and shrub borders. To the rear of the lawn there is a raised decking area and summerhouse with garden furniture provides rooftop views of St Michael's Mount and the sea. Bikes can also be stored in the summer house. Parking for two cars provided. One is accessed by a narrow lane and is only suitable for small cars (no bigger than a VW Golf). The other reserved car parking space is offsite at the Chy Morvah House Hotel, a 5 minute scenic walk away.

Changeover Day: Friday - arrival 4:00pm - departure 10:00am.
Pets Welcome: Maximum 2 well behaved dogs; £25 per dog per week. Information about bringing your pet.
Power and Heat: Electricity and heating included in the rent. Oil-fired central heating throughout.
Bedding and Linen: Bed linen and towels provided, please bring your own beach towels.
Baby Equipment: Travel cot and highchair can be provided on request, please bring your own cot linen.

My sister and I stayed at the Old Stores with our six children and labrador in February. The house is well appointed with spacious bedrooms and a large living space good for a big family. The summerhouse would be good in the better weather. The agents were very helpful and popped in to see we were alright on the first night. Thanks so much, the house was FAB!

Marazion is home to the iconic castle of St Michael's Mount and, offering stunning views towards the Lizard Peninsula and Land's End, it's understandably a popular destination. The ancient market town has a fascinating history and claims to be the oldest town in Britain. It's a great place to visit any time of the year with an abundance of restaurants, traditional pubs, craft shops, art galleries and so much more! There's an excellent sandy beach, guarded by St Michael's Mount, that's ideal for swimming, sailing, kite surfing and all kinds of watersports. The surrounding countryside is dotted with little hamlets and quaint villages with the whole area designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) - a great location for bird watching and dolphin spotting.

Godolphin Cross, a little hamlet only 6 miles from Marazion, lies nestled at the base of Godolphin Hill within the Cornish Mining World Heritage site. From the summit of Godolphin Hill there are spectacular panoramic views over West Cornwall and the Lizard Peninsula. The nearby fishing village of Porthleven and the town of Helston are a short drive away as well as the well-known attractions of Flambards, Paradise Park and Gweek Seal Sanctuary which make excellent days out for all age groups. The Lizard Peninsula encompasses numerous picturesque coves and sandy beaches for you to enjoy including Praa Sands, Mullion and Coverack. It's an area which remains unspoilt and is definitely a real Cornish gem!
