Marazion is home to the iconic castle of St Michael's Mount and, offering stunning views towards the Lizard Peninsula and Land's End, it's understandably a popular destination. The ancient market town has a fascinating history and claims to be the oldest town in Britain. It's a great place to visit any time of the year with an abundance of restaurants, traditional pubs, craft shops, art galleries and so much more! There's an excellent sandy beach, guarded by St Michael's Mount, that's ideal for swimming, sailing, kite surfing and all kinds of watersports. The surrounding countryside is dotted with little hamlets and quaint villages with the whole area designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) - a great location for bird watching and dolphin spotting.
Godolphin Cross, a little hamlet only 6 miles from Marazion, lies nestled at the base of Godolphin Hill within the Cornish Mining World Heritage site. From the summit of Godolphin Hill there are spectacular panoramic views over West Cornwall and the Lizard Peninsula. The nearby fishing village of Porthleven and the town of Helston are a short drive away as well as the well-known attractions of Flambards, Paradise Park and Gweek Seal Sanctuary which make excellent days out for all age groups. The Lizard Peninsula encompasses numerous picturesque coves and sandy beaches for you to enjoy including Praa Sands, Mullion and Coverack. It's an area which remains unspoilt and is definitely a real Cornish gem!
Super accommodation, lovely location, friendly, generous and helpful hosts.Mrs Sarah Wallis - 24th May 2017
The property was beautifully presented, with ample parking. A decent size for four, or excellent facility for a romantic break for two. With a warm welcome from the hosts to show the facilities.Mr J Camp - 20th March 2017
What a wonderful stay in The Old Dairy - a real treat of a week away from it all and enjoying both the relaxation and adventure of Cornwall. From breakfast on the balcony to games in the garden, to seeing the Cornish Man Engine at Godolphin House, it has been non-stop!John, Claire, Ben & Chloe - 5th August 2016
Lovely cottage located in a beautiful location, close to all amenities. Warm reception from the owners, who gave us advice every time we asked. Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful break.Valeria Ines - 5th August 2016
Thank you for yet another fabulous holiday at The Old Dairy, our third in a row! Each year as the children have grown we have enjoyed the property even more - feeding the ducks and chickens was a complete hit this time! We hope to see you soon.Andrew, Gemma, Edward & Amelia. - 1st July 2016
Our second visit to The Old Dairy. It's such a great place to stay and fantastic location. We have enjoyed our stay here again and look forward to returning in the future. Our highlights were Church Cove, Kynance Cove...love these beaches, very special; Swanpool (shingle beach) great cafe and mini golf. Cafe serves fantastic ice creams! Maritime Museum and Telegraph museum were also great on rainy days. Thank you.Claire, Jonathan, Esta & Anni. - 17th June 2016
We have had a wonderful week at The Old Dairy and are already planning our return trip! The cottage is beautiful and so well equipped - you really have thought of everything. The boys have really enjoyed exploring this part of Cornwall - The Maritime Museum, Falmouth, St Michael's Mount to name but a few. The view from the top of Godolphin Hill is definitely worth the walk to. Thank you for a fantastic week.Mike, Genevieve, Matty & Jonah - 8th April 2016
Our family has just spent a lovely Easter week at the Old Dairy. The accommodation was spotless and well equipped with easy to use appliances and age appropriate toys and games. There was also lots of outdoor space for children of all ages to run around in and adults to sit and relax. The Old Dairy is ideally located for lots of family days out, whatever the weather or budget. We visited the Eden Project, the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth and Geevor Tin Mine. We also walked up Godolphin hill and along a couple of the many beaches nearby. Kate and Kevin were perfect hosts and we were greeted with a bottle of wine, a cream tea and Easter eggs for the boys. We also took on board their recommendations and found lots of family friendly places to eat with high quality food. We would definitely recommend the Old Dairy to our friends and will be returning ourselves as soon as possible.Caroline Lamsdale - 24th March 2016
The property was very well equipped with good quality towels and bed linen, plenty of kitchen equipment and comfortable beds. Everything was spotlessly clean. We needed heating, being February and this was provided via underfloor heating and a wood burner stove. There was ample hot water at all times. The setting is peaceful and we enjoyed watching the ducks and chickens in the field. We found that although the area is rural, it never seemed to be far from the coast and the towns. Kevin and Kate were gracious and helpful hosts giving us guidance on where to go and what to see. Porthleven is a delightful port and harbour just 10 minutes away. We had very good meals at the Harbour View pub. We would definitely recommend the Old Dairy to friends and family.Joan R - 24th February 2016
