The town of Looe has charming narrow streets leading down to a picturesque harbour, and is split into East and West Looe by the river that runs through it, and on down to the beach. Looe's sandy beach has a little cafe where you can linger over a cup of coffee while people-watching or admiring the view.
There are a number of lovely cafes, as well as restaurants and pubs to choose from, making this a great destination for the foodies among you. You will have the opportunity to buy freshly-caught fish from the market on the quay, or if you fancy it, go out on a fishing trip to have a go at catching your own!
If you don't fancy fishing, a good alternative boat trip is to Looe Island, where you can find some lovely examples of rare plants, and spot plenty of wildlife, including grey seals and seabirds. Looe Marine Conservation Group can give you more information about the island and its wildlife.
Looe is said to be a wonderful place to enjoy the New Year festivities, a time when many happy party-goers in fancy dress descend upon the town to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a magnificent display of fireworks
This property is fabulous in every way. There was everything we needed, and more. It was immaculately clean, had the perfect balcony and it was good to have a dedicated parking space. The bed was the most comfortable one we've ever slept in. We watched the sunrise from the balcony and we watched shooting starts from the balcony - an added bonus. Close to the coastal path was good too. We had the best week ever. Anna Clerey sorted out our last minute change of date and holiday property in just 24 hours. We couldn't be happier with the service we received from Cornish Horizons. We would recommend you to everyone. Thank you so much.Mrs Helen Wilson - 15th October 2018
A lovely apartment with stunning views. We would certainly come back and recommend to family and friends. The apartment had everything we needed, very clean and comfy (homely). We are very glad we did not cancel [when the Looe Music Festival cancelled]. We enjoyed the [Looe Saves the Day replacement] festival – well done the people of Looe! PS Cornish Horizons were so helpful. Customer - 1st October 2018
Love this part of the country, 3rd year running we've visited. We love discovering new places, it's so interesting and magical down here. I'm sure we'll be back again soon. We were very impressed with the accommodation and service from Cornish Horizons, would definitely recommend and use them again.Mrs Pat Martin - 26th September 2018
Apartment was very nice and the view was excellent. Go to the Blue Peter in Polperro for lunch. Do the Woodland walk. I would recommend Lemain Garden apartments to anyone. Mrs jaqueline Burkinshaw - 3rd September 2018
A little gem. Actually missed counting the steps back going the apartment.K Lockwood - 27th August 2018
All we can say is stunning. Very clean. Loved it. Did not want to leave a good review because we don't want people to know about this treasure!! The Lockwoods - 18th August 2018
First time in Looe, 2 weeks of hot sunshine and plenty of walking done! Polperro is not for the faint-hearted, but well worth every step. Millendreath beach is a lovely stroll along the coastal path with a delightful beach and bar at Black Rock Beach, which we visited several times!! Apartment was everything we could have wanted and more, every small detail thought of, the tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, and milk waiting on our arrival was a thoughtful touch. 50 steps are worth the effort, comfy, homely, spotlessly clean and of course the stunning views. Will recommend to family and friends. Thank you xxDawn and John - 11th August 2018
Excellent accommodation - would thoroughly recommend!Mr Gary Wood - 23rd July 2018
Peter and Pam, we commend you again for such a lovely apartment – very clean, spacious, everything we could need provided. We have had a wonderful week, very hot, but managed to do Looe to Polperro walk – which is a must. We feel quite fit after walking down into Looe most days. Lovely cafe and museum in the Sardine Factory, 1st building on left as you walk down the steps past sculpture of Nelson. Very interesting museum about the history of Looe. We never tire of the beautiful views from the apartment, they are stunning. We always, always feel completely relaxed from the minute we get here. Hoping to come here for many years to come. Thank you. Ps. Thank you for the lovely flowers, milk & biscuits – much appreciated.Mr and Mrs McLean - 14th July 2018
High quality accommodation, beautiful views not suitable for anyone that cannot climb 50 steps.Mrs Elizabeth Tabari - 9th July 2018
Looe is a lovely little town, which I would recommend to anyone. Good walks and nice and central for visits to the Eden project and Heligan. Our apartment was excellent, with stunning sea views!Ms Julie Nutt - 18th June 2018
Such a fantastic apartment with incredible views. Really enjoyed the coastal walk nearby and the walk in Kilminorth Wood. This was our first visit to Looe and we will definitely come again. The apartment itself was exactly what we needed and the view was excellent from the table inside as well as on the balcony. Wouldn't change a thing! Thank you so much!!Mr Phipps - 6th April 2018
The property had wonderful sea views and was comfortably furnished. The kitchen was very well equipped.Mrs Gillian Goodsman - 21st March 2018
Such a relaxing week, thank you. What fantastic views. Enjoyed the walk from Looe to Polperro - steep in places. Polperro is a must to visit. Glad to finally visit The Eden Project. Drove to Polruan and got the ferry to Fowey for a lovely day.Miss Boulstridge - 26th August 2017
Another week in this lovely apartment. We have been in most of them now and they are all great - but this is our favourite. So many places to see - just can't get around to all of them. Lunch in Fowey at the Dwelling House is great. Mount Edgcumbe House & Country Park is another great place.Mr & Mrs McLean - 15th July 2017
We've had a great week at Whitsand, lovely apartment with fantastic views. Had great weather and did some lovely walks with the dogs.Mr and Mrs Barker - 8th July 2017
The location score is purely down to the property being at the top of a very big hill. However, the location did allow for some wonderful views. We had a wonderful time and would recommend the property to others. Mr J Thomas - 8th April 2017
The local area is stunning. The coastal path is a must for those that like walking and there are some excellent restaurants in Looe too.Ms Janey Gaffney - 14th October 2016
We came we saw and we conquered Cornwall. A fabulous break away from everything. We highly recommend Portbyhan hotel for the Sunday carvery as well as the courtyard, Spectacular views on the Talland Bay walk...loved every minute!Jane and Rachelle - 7th October 2016

Home from home - FantasticKaren and Ally Colchester - 6th August 2016
If we could capture those moments of breakfasting on the balcony in the morning sunshine, and steal them away we would in a heartbeat. The views and sounds are magnificent and well miss them, whilst the apartment was just perfect for our needs, Thank you! Our greatest triumph was the coastal walk from Looe to Polperro with a welcome stop for lunch at the Smugglers Cove, but we found the apartment great base from which we could travel easily to other parts of Cornwall. With many thanksCarol & Wayne Earp - 5th August 2016
What a brilliant start to the holiday, wonderful clean apartment with everything you could want. You can really relax knowing that everything is fine. Balcony was a real bonus and a wonderful view would happily return here.Ms Baxter - 23rd July 2016

Another brilliant holiday in sunny Looe, staying at Lemain Gardens. We've stayed in a few of these apartments but never in Whitsand....what a treat we love it, amazing views and fully equipped luxury apartment. Breakfast on the balcony and evening watching the sunset, we will be back.Julia and Carl - 25th June 2016
What a fantastic apartment, extremely well equipped, light and airy with magnificent views! O have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The steps have justified the many delicious cream teas and ice creams we have had whilst here! Love the walk down into Looe and the many coastal walks. Would recommend visiting the monkey sanctuary - many knowledgeable staff there who are passionate about their job. Would definitely stay here again, thank youPaul and Chris Coggal - 18th June 2016
We have really enjoyed our week here, despite the near arctic temperatures on some days due to the unseasonable North wind, but the sun has shone and the views form this apartment are lovely. Whitsand is just perfect for a couple - very comfortable, clean, light and airy. We have rented many flats and cottages in Cornwall and this is one of the very best. We will have to return in order to drink cold whites wine on the balcony! Thank youMichael & Brenda Wyatt - 23rd April 2016
