A beautifully kept small apartment in a quiet spot, just metres from a craggy beach. We enjoyed running alongside the sea here back and forth along the flat concrete path (about 0.5 miles long) in the mornings. The beach here is great for rock pooling and watching the sea. If you want sand, it is only a short walk into the main town where there is a small sandy beach. We stayed here for New Year's which is great fun: everyone in fancy dress and lots of little street parties with everyone dancing to silly music in ridiculous costumes. Then, at midnight, there are fireworks by the beach, which were just beautiful. The apartment is extremely clean, thoughtfully furnished and kitted out, with a lazy boy sofa to relax in, in the evenings. At night it is wonderful to go to sleep with the sound of the waves and in the morning you can pull back the curtains and lie in bed watching the sea. Our hosts were really thoughtful and left us yummy treats as a New Year's present. There isn't much to see and do in Looe, because it's just a small place, but if you're after a chilled holiday in a lovely apartment, this one's for you :)
Lovely apartment - our second visit and I'm sure there will be more. Weather has been wet and windy most of the week, but it hasn't kept us in. Walked to Polperro via Talland Bay- recommend Crumblehorn Inn for a meal. Liskeard- not much there- best part was going by train. Very much enjoyed staying here.
Lovely apartment - comfy and great location. Stunning weather. Golden Guinea in Looe and Three Pilchards in Polperro are great for food and a warm welcome. All superb, just love it.
What a wonderful week we have had. The apartment has exceeded all our expectations with its location near the town, plus the fantastic views. We have visited most of Cornwall but Looe us probably the best location in the county.
It was a wonderful experience the whole package.
I'm so happy writing this because of all the happy memories we have of the last week. It is stunning throughout - if we could sum it up in one word - wow!
Beautiful apartment, very well equipped and well-cared for. Cornish Horizons were a pleasure to book with.
Lovely apartment with amazing views. We've really enjoyed sitting on the balcony or at the table and watching the changing scenery. The apartment was really comfortable (great bed) and well equipped. Thank you to all for making this such a great place to stay.
Another really lovely week! Weather has been fantastic except Friday but cannot complain. Thank you for the lovely flowers, biscuits and milk - much appreciated.
We had a fantastic time! So much so we booked and stayed another week in Lemain Garden Apartments. We are coming back soon.
Amazing views, high quality apartment with a fully stocked kitchen. Home from home. Views to die for. We will return!
The views from the dining table in the Whitsand and from the balcony if the weather is fine, are to die for and well worth the climb up the 50 steps. The service received from Cornish Horizons is probably the best we have had from any other holiday companies in this country for friendliness and efficiency on the phone and we fully recommend them.
The town of Looe has charming narrow streets leading down to a picturesque harbour, and is split into East and West Looe by the river that runs through it, and on down to the beach. Looe's sandy beach has a little cafe where you can linger over a cup of coffee while people-watching or admiring the view.
There are a number of lovely cafes, as well as restaurants and pubs to choose from, making this a great destination for the foodies among you. You will have the opportunity to buy freshly-caught fish from the market on the quay, or if you fancy it, go out on a fishing trip to have a go at catching your own!
If you don't fancy fishing, a good alternative boat trip is to Looe Island, where you can find some lovely examples of rare plants, and spot plenty of wildlife, including grey seals and seabirds. Looe Marine Conservation Group can give you more information about the island and its wildlife.
Looe is said to be a wonderful place to enjoy the New Year festivities, a time when many happy party-goers in fancy dress descend upon the town to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a magnificent display of fireworks
