The town of Looe has charming narrow streets leading down to a picturesque harbour, and is split into East and West Looe by the river that runs through it, and on down to the beach. Looe's sandy beach has a little cafe where you can linger over a cup of coffee while people-watching or admiring the view.
There are a number of lovely cafes, as well as restaurants and pubs to choose from, making this a great destination for the foodies among you. You will have the opportunity to buy freshly-caught fish from the market on the quay, or if you fancy it, go out on a fishing trip to have a go at catching your own!
If you don't fancy fishing, a good alternative boat trip is to Looe Island, where you can find some lovely examples of rare plants, and spot plenty of wildlife, including grey seals and seabirds. Looe Marine Conservation Group can give you more information about the island and its wildlife.
Looe is said to be a wonderful place to enjoy the New Year festivities, a time when many happy party-goers in fancy dress descend upon the town to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a magnificent display of fireworks.
A proper get away to really get away from it all with the added bonus of the extra wildlife to listen to and see.would recommend if you need to relax away from the hussle and bussle of built up areas.Mr I Hardy - 31st October 2016
Visited on a last minute break. Cottage is fantastic, with everything you could need. Joy is very helpful should you need anything and the park is amazing. Great to see Stumpy the lemur and the odd peacock in the back garden in the morning. Most places in Cornwall are quite easily accessible from here. Will definitely recommend to others and look into coming again. The Hardy family - 28th October 2016
What an amazing place to stay! It's been an absolute joy to wake up each morning to see Stumpy, the peacocks, the parrots & to visit all the other animals around the park. It has been fascinating for us as adults so can only imagine what children make of the cottage and park. We will be recommending to family & friends & would definitely return. Thank youOtters & Rual family - 24th September 2016
We loved every minute. The cottage is clean and homely, the lemur and peafowl visiting each day was exciting for all of us! We loved being able to visit the park at leisure, and our daughter loved the swings (nearly as much as she enjoyed the sausage rolls!).Lewis family - 20th August 2016
We have stayed for a week with our 6 year old son. We have loved this cottage! It is situated only 15 mins from Looe and 50 mins from Padstow & Newquay. Fowey is a must visit and we would advise getting there early to get parked. Our 6 year old loved Lappa Valley Railway & Dairyland. The best bit was returning here each evening being welcomed by the parrots next door. We felt so relaxed watching the peacocks & Lemur (Stumpy) in the garden each evening. On a clear night the stars were amazing as no light pollution. Staff were welcoming, friendly & available if needed. Thank you Mrs Palmer. We have loved our week at Porfell!!!The Buck family - 6th August 2016
Unique location - how amazing to have a lemur in the garden most days!!Mrs Rachel Hill - 4th July 2016

A lovely relaxing stay. Very clean, well equipped cottage in a lovely location. Owner Joy was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her. Looe and Polperro were beautiful, lots of nice places to eat. Carlyon Bay had a great beach, Fowey, Padstow and Charlestown worth a visit. The Palin family - 22nd August 2015
