Meadowcroft is a lovely 1870's original fishermans cottage in West Looe, which has been renovated to an excellent standard, but has retained many of its original features. The woodburner is a great addition to keep you warm and cosy in the cooler months, and in the summer months you can take advantage of the small enclosed private courtyard to the rear, to enjoy that evening glass of wine or morning coffee. The town of Looe has charming narrow streets leading down to a picturesque harbour, and is split into East and West Looe by the river that runs through it, and on down to the beach. Looe's sandy beach has a little cafe where you can linger over a cup of coffee while people-watching or admiring the view.
There are a number of lovely cafes, as well as restaurants and pubs to choose from, making this a great destination for the foodies among you. You will have the opportunity to buy freshly-caught fish from the market on the quay, or if you fancy it, go out on a fishing trip to have a go at catching your own!
If you don't fancy fishing, a good alternative boat trip is to Looe Island, where you can find some lovely examples of rare plants, and spot plenty of wildlife, including grey seals and seabirds. Looe Marine Conservation Group can give you more information about the island and its wildlife.
Looe is said to be a wonderful place to enjoy the New Year festivities, a time when many happy party-goers in fancy dress descend upon the town to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a magnificent display of fireworks.
Great place to holiday with a laid back atmosphere.Mr Mark McMurdie - 9th April 2018
Absolutely perfect. Mr Kevin Hayden - 26th February 2018
The property was excellent with really good quality fittings and could not fault it.Mr Jon haines - 21st August 2017
The best shower and biggest bath I've ever we've ever had, I wish I could have taken it home. King size bed was comfy, although would have been nice if more pillows were suppliedMrs Victoria Woolley - 5th July 2017
We really enjoyed staying in this property. It was a cosy cottage in a good location. Two handy shops within a couple of minutes walk was ideal and looe itself wishing easy walking or ferry boat distance. It had everything we could have needed in the kitchen and was pleasingly decorated with a seaside theme. It was very clean and the bonus of a dishwasher and washer dryer with a toddler was very much appreciated. The king size bed was very comfortable and our toddler loved her own room on the top floor. It was too warm and sunny to use the wood burner but this was a nice feature which would be lovely in colder weather. Miss Venetta Nicolov - 30th May 2017
Meadowcroft is the best cottage we have stayed in. It is very comfortable and finished to a high standard. It is in a great location, away from the busier East Looe, but close enough that we didn't need the car. We would definitely stay there again. Mrs Julie Pratt - 17th April 2017
We had a lovely stay in Looe, this is our third time & we never tire of it. This cottage is lovely, clean & has all that is needed. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the cottage. Lovely holiday staying at a lovely cottage. We will be back :-)Mr & Mrs Mcmahon - 25th June 2016
Had a lovely week spent at Meadowcroft. Lovely, clean and had all equipment needed and more! Absolutely loved the huge bath and shower, and bed very comfy. Would recommend the Looe to Polperro coastal walk - stunning views & a nice mid point stop off at Talland Bay and the lovely beach cafe. Plan a stop at the Coddy Shack - it is the best fish and chips in Looe. All the fresh fish is fab and go to Pengellys for the day's catch. Had a fab holiday. ThanksMiss Taylor - 21st May 2016
A mighty fine place to stay. Would happily stay there again.Mrs Pauline Grover - 26th October 2015
