If you come for a holiday at Seashells you will find a welcoming home-from-home. This apartment is finished to a very high standard and with the eclectic styling, high-quality modern facilities and beautiful views, you are sure to be delighted.  Located just a short walk to the dog-friendly beach at Par Sands and within 3 miles of Fowey, Seashells has expansive views across to St Austell Bay.  With quality features such as underfloor heating throughout, oak doors and a fitted well-equipped kitchen, it provides an excellent base from which to explore the south coast of Cornwall.

Charlestown, the unspoiled example of a working Georgian port and used for filming in the Poldark TV series, is a 10 minute drive whilst the Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project are also within easy reach and well-worth a visit. The village of Par with its neighbourhood facilities is close by and the local beach, with its long expanse of sands backed by dunes and easy parking is popular with families.

Set high on the edge of the village in a small modern development Seashells has been designed with the views and comfort in mind. A full-height window in the open-plan living space makes the most of the scenic outlook and a comfortable seating area in the main bedroom is set up to allow you to relax and soak up the vista.

Local Area

St Austell is located near a stretch of coastline that is often referred to as the Cornish Riviera. The South coast of Cornwall is generally more sheltered than the wild and windswept North, and there are some excellent beaches in this area. As well as Carlyon Bay, there is also Pentewan Sands, further south, and Par beach (which is dog-friendly all year round) to the north-west.  The area is very handy for both the Eden Project (excellent for families with its interactive and educational displays) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, rediscovered some 25 years ago and now restored to their former glory. The Lost Gardens are another family-friendly attraction, with a cafe, picnic area and lots of animals to see, and they also welcome dogs on leads. Carlyon Bay nestles in between two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is also close to Charlestown, a historic port which has often been used as a location for filming several TV dramas including the recent adaptation of Poldark. Venture East along the coast and you will find the towns of Looe, Polperro and Fowey, and if you head West you can visit Mevagissey. A little way inland, St Austell has plenty of shops, pubs and a cinema complex.

“We arrived at Seashells in a rather pensive mood – after all, surely the property photographs seen on the Cornish Horizons website were too good to be true, no doubt staged to make the property look better than it really is in reality. Oh how wrong we were! Seashells is even better in reality than on the photographs! Of course we had packed just about everything except the kitchen sink because (from past experience) surely the property wouldn’t have loo roles, kitchen paper, kitchen foil, cling film, kitchen towels, a decent frying pan etc. etc. Oh how wrong we were (I thought as I repacked everything unused back in to the car at the end of our stay). Everything we could possibly need was there and then so, so much more, like a drawer full of guidebooks and maps, a cupboard full of games and DVD’s and a wardrobe shelf full of books. Then the kitchen had everything we could possibly need, including the kitchen foil, cling film and cake tins, measuring jugs, mixers and so on. On top of that we were delighted to find afternoon tea waiting for us, including a fresh loaf of bread and even orange juice and champagne in the fridge!” The property itself was impeccable, the beds super-comfy. I have stayed in many 5* hotels that were no way as clean and well presented as this – and the views across the bay? Stunning.” Mr John Bannister - 25th September 2017
Wonderful bolt hole from which to explore Cornwall. Apartment so clean and comfortable - felt very at home. Loved waking up to the views across the bay and the walk to the beach or over to Polkerris certainly cleared the head and stresses of everyday life. Thank you for all your hard work in making our stay a memorable one. Amanda and Steven from Suffolk - 23rd September 2017

We had a great time in Cornwall. The flat was very clean and had stylish furniture. We had a wonderful view of the bay and the beach. We could search for sights by the brochures and the free internet access. We hiked to the lighthouse and walked on the beach. Thanks for the fabulous holidays! The Zopf Family - 22nd July 2017
