Reviews

Yardarm Cottage is a lovely place to stay. My family and I have rented Yardarm Cottage twice and it won’t be the last!

Mrs A Cole,

Very clean. Amazing views, nice and quiet setting.

Mrs Elizabeth McPhee,

Second visit - really like it.

Mr Cliff Hacking,

You couldn't want for anything more. Beautiful cottage - outstanding views from the windows. The cottage was exactly as the website described it. It was easy to get in to the village for restaurants and shops. The garden was an added bonus

Mrs Jacqueline Withers,

Wouldn’t go anywhere else! The highest standards we have encountered anywhere! Never want to leave!

Mrs Nicola Maciver,

It was lovely and we will definitely be back.

Mrs A Cole,

1st stay, hopefully not the last. Wonderful house, stunning views. Very comfortable. We have done many walks, alas no signs of "Poldark," sampled local lager and cider, ate many cream teas, cakes and pasties. The locals are very friendly and helpful. Thank you :-)

Oliver family,

Third stay in Fowey in 3 years and second at Yardarm. Only regret was that we didn't discover town and cottage 15 years ago! Weather was good - just one wet day. Cottage very thoughtfully and very generously equipped and what views! Ticks all the boxes for us.

Corbishley family,

Map

If you haven't yet discovered Fowey, you've got a treat in store.  Full of multicoloured cottages, perched on the hillsides leading down to the sea, this little fishing town has lots to tempt visitors.

There is an entrancing collection of unique local shops and boutiques, along with harbourside cafes, pubs which will give you a hearty welcome and a good atmosphere, and restaurants offering tempting local produce.  If you want a unique insight into the local species in these waters, you could visit Fowey Aquarium, whose residents include specimens brought in by local fishermen.

If you're a fan of Daphne du Maurier, you may want to visit the Literary Centre, which gives information and exhibits about the author and her life and work.  There is also the Fowey Festival of Words and Music, held in May, in which du Maurier, and many other authors, artists and musicians, are celebrated.  Another great spectacle is the Fowey Royal Regatta, held in August.

Fowey lies within one of the many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Cornwall, and the backdrop of the surrounding countryside, with its tidal creeks, rolling fields and rugged cliffs, will make you want to return here again and again.
