Perfectly situated in the creekside village of Lerryn, Mote Cottage is a traditional, stone-built cottage with many character features. It is located just steps away from the ancient bridge spanning the River Lerryn with the nearby 16thcentury village pub offering locally-sourced home-made food and a village store on hand for all your necessary supplies. A quaint cottage with charm and history which offers all modern comforts, quality furnishings and plenty of space for four. A private terrace to the rear provides a tranquil place for al fresco dining or relaxation time to just read a book and listen to the birdsong. Mote Cottage is an ideal choice for a countryside retreat within an easy distance of the south coast of Cornwall and many local attractions.
For ramblers there’s a delightful walk from the bridge, through wooded valleys and along a meandering path around the banks of the Fowey estuary to the quay and church of St Winnow – famous for featuring in the original Poldark TV series. Lostwithiel town is a 10 minute drive away and here you will find many antique shops to browse, local cafes to scoff home-baked cakes and a busy festival calendar to enjoy throughout the year. A 20min drive is all it takes to reach the picturesque estuary town of Fowey, with all its marine activity, and a great place to explore.
