Property code: OC-TIGHNA

This pretty little cottage, whose name means ’view of the sea’, is ideal for couples or families looking for a quiet place to explore the beautiful Cornish countryside and coast. It is less than 300 metres from the sandy beach or the centre of this pretty village, where many restaurants serve the finest local produce. The village is a lovely spot to unwind as you browse the galleries and watch the fishing boats in the harbour.

A characterful property set over two floors that feels homely and welcoming. The exposed floorboards and original fireplaces exude real charm, perfectly balanced by the modern comforts you know and love. Downstairs is a cosy living/dining area with comfortable sofas and a wood burner for the colder months, making this a lovely space to socialise. If you run out of conversation, you can watch your favourite shows on the TV. The kitchen has everything needed to make meal preparation a breeze and has a beautiful slate-tiled floor. On the first floor there is a bathroom and two bedrooms: one double with a window seat and a beautiful sea view, and a twin. Outside, you will find an enclosed rear courtyard garden with seating providing a lovely sunny spot to enjoy a brew in the morning or afternoon.

There are many attractions nearby with activities to please everyone. Flambards Theme Park is great for families; the National Trust Penrose has wonderful woodland paths that emerge along stretches of coastline, and the Museum of Cornish Life gives a fascinating insight into the area’s history - all within 5 miles. Praa Sands Beach (5.5 miles) is a great family beach, perfect for building sandcastles or water sports, especially surfing. If you enjoy walking, take the coastal path along the cliffs towards Rinsey (3.5 miles). The cliffs make a great spot to watch the sunsets.

This was our 3rd stay in this cosy home by the sea, which says it all really. A comfortable retreat whatever the weather in a seaside town we love to visit.

We had a good week in porthleven. The property was fine but a little tired. The Internet was very poor, only worked for one day! On the plus side the bed was very comfortable.

We had a super time at Tigh-na-Mara, its a great cottage, a hop skip & jump from the beach and 5 minutes to the harbour square. For our four legged member, perfect enclosed patio (escape proof) & enclosed kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped, has the option of a bath or shower, very cosy and possibly the best holiday cottage bed for comfort wevRead moree stayed in. It was fabulous to hear the sea lying in bed. We relaxed very quickly and would love to return. Porthleven is a lovely quaint fishing port. One helpful point for future visitors is the parking, the space is not a problem but on exiting, there are often parked vehicles opposite. My husband managed to negotiate his L200 out but with care. This is not a complaint or to put people off, just the heads up. Theres also plenty to do in Porthleven that you dont need to leave. Happy holidays if you choose here. Hide

Property was in a good location. We did not find the oven easy to use and appeared a bit dated. Bed was comfortable and the place was clean.

The cottage was lovely and welcoming, warm and very clean. The bed was so comfortable and to sit in bed and view the stormy seas was a joy. Very hilly, but certainly helped my fitness. The parking space at the property is a big plus too!

A fantastic five days in a lovely, comfortable cottage. Very lucky with the weather at the time of the year and meant Barney could make full use of the beaches as the dog ban ended 1st Oct. Great restaurants. Our second visit to Porthleven in 2 years. We'll be back again.

Wonderful time, sunny weather, spectacular seascapes, all made even better by our stay at this lovely, cosy, well-equipped cottage. It is one of the best cottages we have stayed at in Cornwall and it was spotlessly clean when we arrived.

Well equipped, immaculate & perfect location. Found the settees low & uncomfortable & the steps outside the property were quite steep. Would have liked the holiday to be cheaper.
