I'll sum up the Seahorse apartment, Above Beach service and the local area in one sentence: the apartment is stunning, Above Beach Cottages staff are always so helpful and Porthleven, well, it's absolutely beautiful, I always return year after year ever since stumbling across this most enchanting little fishing village, where the beach is amazing and the views are breathtaking.
Fabulous and the scones and cream on arrival was a lovely surprise Perfect location and within one hour of many attractions and places to visit
We love to go to Porthleven, there is plenty to do, and lovely places to eat.
A perfect place with added bonus of a parking space. Thank you for the lovely scones. Will be back!
Our third stay in Porthleven but first time in this apartment. Immaculate accommodation, nice touches on arrival, situation perfect.
Lovely holiday accommodation, very clean with everything you need. Had a great week around Porthleven, enjoyed Praa Sands Beach and casual walks. Will definitely be back in the future!
Excellent service from the letting company and the apartment is ideal for a holiday in the South of Cornwall. Perfect for a whole range of activities for all the family.
Set on the west coast of the spectacular Lizard Peninsula, the little harbour town of Porthleven is the quintessential Cornish fishing port. Centred around the harbour, it boasts an array of cafés, restaurants and galleries and exudes a chilled, relaxed atmosphere. Porthleven is the most southerly working port in the UK, with fishing boats operating out of the harbour. This makes the town a great spot to enjoy some delicious seafood, straight from the fishing boats to the restaurants, it couldn’t be fresher!
Porthleven beach can be accessed from the town itself and provides a long expanse of sand which is separated into segments by several rocky outcrops. While away the glorious summer days relaxing on the beach with a locally made ice cream in hand!
Situated part way along a huge sweeping bay, it faces the Atlantic Ocean and is often on the receiving end of some mighty winter storms! A fabulous destination for a winter break; marvel at the awe-inspiring waves pounding the harbour walls from the cosy safety of the local pub!
The surrounding area doesn’t disappoint either; located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the views from every cove or clifftop are picture-perfect. Travel north-west and you’ll reach Marazion, home of St Michael’s Mount – an absolute ‘must’. South takes you to the tip of the Lizard Peninsula, Lizard Point, one of Cornwall’s most iconic spots.
You won’t tire of the walks and stunning scenery, but if you fancy a day out, try the Seal Sanctuary, Flambards or Trebah Gardens. Or, go a little further afield and you can explore Penzance, Land’s End and St Ives.
