This jaw-dropping property in Porthleven promises a truly unique getaway.  If it’s a family coastal self-catering escape you crave then you can’t get much closer to the elements than Ocean View. With panoramic sea views, this is the perfect sand-between-toes retreat. The aptly named cottage really does have breathtaking views that have to be seen to be believed and you can listen to the gulls overhead and boats lazily sailing past in summer months and in winter you can enjoy the dramatic waves crashing from the warmth of this cosy coastal cottage.

Porthleven exudes Cornish charm and tradition.  Set in the middle of a huge sweeping bay, the beach at Porthleven is ideal for a relaxing family holiday and has arguably the most impressive harbour in Cornwall.  Construction commenced during Napoleonic times and some sources state that it was built with the aid of French prisoners of war. Small fishing boats land their daily catch in Porthleven, much of which is sold in Porthleven cafes and restaurants and the award winning Quayside fishmongers.  Enjoy day trips to Lands End, Flambards and the Cornish Seal Sanctuary and return home to your very own slice of Cornish heaven.

Miss Kate B,

Had a comfortable stay here at Ocean View, wonderful location and walks from the door. Good for the soul!

Mr Marcus W,

We have stayed many times before, this was the first time during a major storm....exciting!!

Mr Jeremy G,

It was very comfortable, fantastic views and we very much enjoyed our stay.

Mrs Gill C,

A new part of Cornwall that we have enjoyed exploring and fallen in love with! We've loved our time walking the coast path with the dog, visiting beaches and towns, having beach BBQs and spending time in Ocean View enjoying the spectacular views!

The Lawrence Family,

Lovely week in Porthleven again. This is our third stay in Ocean View and we liked the decor updates and open kitchen. Get up early if you want the best of the fresh fish at the fishmongers! Fantastic weather at the start of the week and spectacular storm in the last two days.

The Goodwin Family,

Stayed here many times before but love the new decor and kitchen/ lounge layout.

Mr C,

Another great holiday at Ocean View. We have stayed here every year for the last 6 years! It's always delightful and we love the updated alterations and decor this year - very well done. Many thanks.

Previous Customer,

Ocean View is in a great location with panoramic views out to sea. We loved watching the waves. There are good walks straight from the house and a short walk brings you into the pretty harbour of Porthleven.

Mrs S,

Best self catering property we have ever stayed in.

Mr W,

A good week thank you. Loved the views, comfortable beds, good cooker, space. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

Ruth + J,

Fantastic location and accommodation. Porthleven is a perfect place for a relaxing week away and to tour the South West area. We don't want to leave! The views from Ocean View have been a highlight and we will miss our morning and evening listening to abd watching the breaking waves. (P.S. loved The Ship Inn!)

Richard + C,

Set on the west coast of the spectacular Lizard Peninsula, the little harbour town of Porthleven is the quintessential Cornish fishing port. Centred around the harbour, it boasts an array of cafés, restaurants and galleries and exudes a chilled, relaxed atmosphere. Porthleven is the most southerly working port in the UK, with fishing boats operating out of the harbour. This makes the town a great spot to enjoy some delicious seafood, straight from the fishing boats to the restaurants, it couldn’t be fresher!

Porthleven beach can be accessed from the town itself and provides a long expanse of sand which is separated into segments by several rocky outcrops. While away the glorious summer days relaxing on the beach with a locally made ice cream in hand!

Situated part way along a huge sweeping bay, it faces the Atlantic Ocean and is often on the receiving end of some mighty winter storms! A fabulous destination for a winter break; marvel at the awe-inspiring waves pounding the harbour walls from the cosy safety of the local pub!

The surrounding area doesn’t disappoint either; located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the views from every cove or clifftop are picture-perfect. Travel north-west and you’ll reach Marazion, home of St Michael’s Mount – an absolute ‘must’. South takes you to the tip of the Lizard Peninsula, Lizard Point, one of Cornwall’s most iconic spots.

You won’t tire of the walks and stunning scenery, but if you fancy a day out, try the Seal Sanctuary, Flambards or Trebah Gardens. Or, go a little further afield and you can explore Penzance, Land’s End and St Ives.
