Just delightful, the property is a cosy cottage and it's kitchen is well equipped with what's needed if you like cooking. A very clean cottage and top of the range bed linen and towels. Panoramic views across the bay. It's quiet and very peaceful, a gem of a place. A friendly Local pub only a few minutes from the property, you'll have a happy holiday if you can get this cottage.
First time visit for our Canadian friends and they loved it!!
It was brilliant, we think it couldn't have been better. A great place to go, you don't have to use the car if you don't want to....beach, walks, restaurants, shops....all there, plus wow what a setting.
A fantastic week, didn't want to go home. Never want to do B
Grandads is perfect in every way. Had a brilliant stay, lovely hearing the sound of the sea first thing in the morning!
Possibly the most relaxing, romantic and completely wonderful holiday home in Cornwall! Loved every minute of it – CU again.'
This is such a perfect little place, cosy, comfy with such a stunning outlook. Such as relaxing week.
We have had a great week, will be back, really warm and sunny. Grandad's Net Loft is gorgeous, such lovely views.
Set on the west coast of the spectacular Lizard Peninsula, the little harbour town of Porthleven is the quintessential Cornish fishing port. Centred around the harbour, it boasts an array of cafés, restaurants and galleries and exudes a chilled, relaxed atmosphere. Porthleven is the most southerly working port in the UK, with fishing boats operating out of the harbour. This makes the town a great spot to enjoy some delicious seafood, straight from the fishing boats to the restaurants, it couldn’t be fresher!
Porthleven beach can be accessed from the town itself and provides a long expanse of sand which is separated into segments by several rocky outcrops. While away the glorious summer days relaxing on the beach with a locally made ice cream in hand!
Situated part way along a huge sweeping bay, it faces the Atlantic Ocean and is often on the receiving end of some mighty winter storms! A fabulous destination for a winter break; marvel at the awe-inspiring waves pounding the harbour walls from the cosy safety of the local pub!
The surrounding area doesn’t disappoint either; located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the views from every cove or clifftop are picture-perfect. Travel north-west and you’ll reach Marazion, home of St Michael’s Mount – an absolute ‘must’. South takes you to the tip of the Lizard Peninsula, Lizard Point, one of Cornwall’s most iconic spots.
You won’t tire of the walks and stunning scenery, but if you fancy a day out, try the Seal Sanctuary, Flambards or Trebah Gardens. Or, go a little further afield and you can explore Penzance, Land’s End and St Ives.
