Love everything about the place.
The cottage is very well positioned for views, distance to the harbour and proximity to eating places. We’ve stayed twice and hopefully will do so again.
Great position right on the sea front and a well equipped cottage. We hope to visit again next year.
Just returned are having a lovely holiday at Blue Horizon in Porthleven. The cottage is superbly sited right on the waters edge a short stroll from the town. The cottage was immaculate, well equipped and extremely clean - a home from home! Thoroughly recommended
Beautifully equipped, upside down cottage which took full advantage of being on the edge of the sea. Easy to book online and no problems.
We have rented properties in Porthleven for the last 4 years and many times throughout Cornwall, Blue Horizon is definitely our favourite and we’ll be back!
It was wonderful and we hope to come again next year!
Fantastic views and a lovely, comfortable place to stay - look forward to coming back!
It's a lovely comfortable place to stay with excellent views.
Blue Horizon was very well located, seconds from the beach, minutes from the town and with magnificent views. Lovely welcome pack for both us and our dog.
Set on the west coast of the spectacular Lizard Peninsula, the little harbour town of Porthleven is the quintessential Cornish fishing port. Centred around the harbour, it boasts an array of cafés, restaurants and galleries and exudes a chilled, relaxed atmosphere. Porthleven is the most southerly working port in the UK, with fishing boats operating out of the harbour. This makes the town a great spot to enjoy some delicious seafood, straight from the fishing boats to the restaurants, it couldn’t be fresher!
Porthleven beach can be accessed from the town itself and provides a long expanse of sand which is separated into segments by several rocky outcrops. While away the glorious summer days relaxing on the beach with a locally made ice cream in hand!
Situated part way along a huge sweeping bay, it faces the Atlantic Ocean and is often on the receiving end of some mighty winter storms! A fabulous destination for a winter break; marvel at the awe-inspiring waves pounding the harbour walls from the cosy safety of the local pub!
The surrounding area doesn’t disappoint either; located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the views from every cove or clifftop are picture-perfect. Travel north-west and you’ll reach Marazion, home of St Michael’s Mount – an absolute ‘must’. South takes you to the tip of the Lizard Peninsula, Lizard Point, one of Cornwall’s most iconic spots.
You won’t tire of the walks and stunning scenery, but if you fancy a day out, try the Seal Sanctuary, Flambards or Trebah Gardens. Or, go a little further afield and you can explore Penzance, Land’s End and St Ives.
