Fifth time in Porthleven, had a great time as always! We would recommend Praa Sands beach - kayaking across the harbour at Waterborne if you have children. Thank you!

Great weather most of the week. Super walks, great food - really enjoyed the Atlantic Inn - never ventured up the hill before!

What a beautiful apartment - we have fallen in love with it! We love Porthleven (our 2nd visit) and really enjoyed being right on the harbour. Such beautiful sunny days made local walks in both directions a real treat.

Thanks so for a fantastic stay in a wonderful apartment. The welcome pack was a lovely idea, Lewis is now totally in love with clotted cream (Harry is unfortunately not allowed dairy). Porthleven is a lovely, friendly place, we have thoroughtly enjoyed our stay. The Atlantic Inn does loevely food and children eat free between 5.30 - 6.30 during the summer. It is well worth the walk up the hill, the views are fantastic. We also found the book on the coffee table about Porthleven very usefull and enjoyed a couple of walks, there are so many hidden walk ways around. The rockpools also provided many hours of fun and we caught all sorts of things. The chippy on the top road re-opened this week under new management so may now be worth a try. We have certainly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back.

Just what the Doctor ordered! The moment we rounded the bend into the harbour all became well in the world! So good to be back. Very impressed with the new Kota Kai and fully recommend 'Sea Drift' for a Sunday Roast. If you get a mo, visit the Minnack Theatre, Porthcurno - amazing place. Fantastic few day, soothes the soul just watching the waves on the beach. Wonderful apartment ;Gail, Julie

Map

Set on the west coast of the spectacular Lizard Peninsula, the little harbour town of Porthleven is the quintessential Cornish fishing port. Centred around the harbour, it boasts an array of cafés, restaurants and galleries and exudes a chilled, relaxed atmosphere. Porthleven is the most southerly working port in the UK, with fishing boats operating out of the harbour. This makes the town a great spot to enjoy some delicious seafood, straight from the fishing boats to the restaurants, it couldn’t be fresher!

Porthleven beach can be accessed from the town itself and provides a long expanse of sand which is separated into segments by several rocky outcrops. While away the glorious summer days relaxing on the beach with a locally made ice cream in hand!

Situated part way along a huge sweeping bay, it faces the Atlantic Ocean and is often on the receiving end of some mighty winter storms! A fabulous destination for a winter break; marvel at the awe-inspiring waves pounding the harbour walls from the cosy safety of the local pub!

The surrounding area doesn’t disappoint either; located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the views from every cove or clifftop are picture-perfect. Travel north-west and you’ll reach Marazion, home of St Michael’s Mount – an absolute ‘must’. South takes you to the tip of the Lizard Peninsula, Lizard Point, one of Cornwall’s most iconic spots.

You won’t tire of the walks and stunning scenery, but if you fancy a day out, try the Seal Sanctuary, Flambards or Trebah Gardens. Or, go a little further afield and you can explore Penzance, Land’s End and St Ives.
