Imagine yourself relaxing on the beautiful veranda of Fern View enjoying a cool drink after a day of exploring the fascinating villages and coves of The Lizard Peninsula. This charming, private annexe of the owner's home overlooks a splendid fern garden with its abundant planting and pretty borders. Inside it is beautifully furnished and the delightful accommodation, coupled with the convenient location, is likely to ensure a fabulous visit to this part of Cornwall.
The town of Helston, which is positioned at the gateway to The Lizard Peninsula, has a strong historical feel and is best known for the annual Furry Dance (known locally as the Flora Dance) which is believed to date back to medieval times. Locally you can enjoy a country walk through the wooded Penrose Estate to Loe Bar, discover more about the history with a visit to the Museum or enjoy a pint of local Spingo Ale in the 600 year old Blue Anchor pub. A 10 minute drive will take you to the harbour town of Porthleven with its choice of fresh seafood restaurants and a little further to the pretty beaches of Poldhu and Gunwalloe. Be sure to check out the spectacular Kynance Cove, one of the most photgraphed locations in Cornwall.

The owners were lovely and went way above what they needed to do to make us feel welcome.
The owner went to a lot of time and effort to offer many little luxuries to make our stay very comfortable. Over and above what had been expected.
This is a very nice, high class property. The hosts are extremely thoughtful and make their holiday makers feel at home. The local area has every convenience with two supermarkets and a garage near by. The high street has lots of interesting shops and coffee shops. There are very nice beaches nearby.
Perfect property for getting away from it all.
We returned to Fern View nearly 2 years after our first visit (delighted to actually get booked this year!) to find the same warm welcome and the very high standards we enjoyed on our first visit. It is a peaceful well appointed retreat within easy walking distance of the town and an ideal base for exploring West Cornwall. Highly recommended!
Personal contact with the owner and the extras they provided are the best we've ever had.
The town of Helston is lively and friendly with a busy main street, full of charming independent shops and plenty of historical attractions, giving the town a lovely traditional feel. The boating lake, park and café are great for families and the well-known visitor attractions of Flambards and The Cornish Seal Sanctuary are also both nearby and make excellent days out for all age groups.
Positioned at the gateway to The Lizard Peninsula, you will find numerous picturesque coves and sandy beaches for you to enjoy within easy driving distance including Porthleven, Poldhu, Mullion and many more. Nestled between the rocks and cliffs of this coastline, are many quaint fishing villages including Coverack, Cadgwith, Portholland and St Keverne which have hardly altered over the years. The Lizard Peninsula is an area which remains unspoilt by industry, and is definitely a real Cornish gem!
