This cosy little cottage for two is found in the Cornish village of Gweek which sits at the head of the Helford River, about 3.5 miles from the market town of Helston. An ideal spot from which to explore the glorious Lizard Peninsula with its many quaint fishing villages clustered around picturesque harbours and creeks. It is a stunningly beautiful area at any time of the year and as a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is so much to discover here.
Old Mill Cottage is stylishly finished and situated close to the centre of the village with a good pub 5 minutes walk away. The Cornish Seal Sanctuary is close by and if you fancy some fun why not try out Cornwall Segway at Goonhilly Satellite Station. The Lizard Peninsula
With dramatic cliffs shaped by the Atlantic Ocean, The Lizard Peninsula is home to many little fishing ports with huge granite sea walls, restaurants specialising in freshly caught seafood and gorgeous sandy bays with rocks jutting out into the sea. You will find plenty of pretty coves and beaches to explore such as Kynance Cove, Kennack Sands and Polurrian Cove. You can visit the Lizard Lighthouse, Roskilly's Farm where they produce their own Cornish ice cream, the Marconi centre at Poldhu, see the camels at Rosuick Organic Farm enjoy a sea fishing trip to catch your supper and visit many other fascinating places.
You will find white beaches, turquoise seas and unique nature along with Lizard Point, which is Britain's most southerly point with the Lighthouse protecting the local shipping from the treacherous coastline since the 1750s. Anyone visiting should make sure they see the Helford River Valley where you will find numerous tiny hamlets set along the leafy roads. Along the river are many creeks and inlets including Frenchman's Creek, known for the place Daphne Du Maurier came on honeymoon and which inspired her romantic tales of skulduggery and romance.

We have had a lovely week in a very beautiful part of the world. A great place to stay - loved the peace. Thank you.Nicky and Dayne, Bath
We had a wonderful time at Old Mill Cottage. The little garden was wonderful, lots of beautiful hydragea and really private. Maddie was really helpful when we had problems with the WiFi and she did literally everything that so that we could get access to the internet. We can only recommend this lovely cottage: the location, a great bed and really fluffy towels. Gweek is a great place to start excursions to lots of interesting places in Cornwall - the Lizard, St. Ives, St. Michael's Mount and the coast in general. Thank you very much!Eva Amann, Germany
