To give our cleaners enough time to complete the additional cleaning and sanitising that is currently needed to keep our guests safe, check-in and check-out times at the majority of our properties have been temporarily revised. The revised times for this property are reflected above.
This detached, single-storey house is found in the most idyllic spot overlooking the Helford River with glistening water views from most rooms stretching out ahead of you. Step out onto the terrace and you’ll find yourself gazing at the tranquility and beauty surrounding you. With the estuary being so close there’s plenty to watch whilst you while away your time and relax. Spinneywood is a place to withdraw to from the hectic pace of normal daily life and find time to enjoy the company of family and friends.
The cove at Gillan (just a 10 minute walk away) is perfect for launching your kayak or paddleboard and messing about on the water exploring the little creeks and spotting the various wildlife of this most precious area. Hire a boat locally at St Anthony, whether you’re a novice or an old-hand, and you will be enchanted by the magic of the river. Swim in the clear waters, picnic on the beach, go rock-pooling for crabs or just sit on a rock with your book and breath in the pure sea air.
Spinneywood is a spacious home surrounded by expansive gardens and delightful views and there’s a real sense of freedom here. With plenty of space for sociable meals around the huge dining table, cosy evenings in front of the wood-burner or family barbecues on the terrace, you’ll fall in love with the place.

Manaccan sits on the south side of the Helford River offering a cute village setting with quaint cottages and a local pub. The well known village of Helford is only 2 miles away and provides a local shop and a ferry service to take you to Helford Passage on the North side of the river.
Where the Lizard meets the Helford area lies the tiny village of Gillan. Due to its being off the beaten track and inaccessible by public transport, this whole area is a bit of an unspoilt gem where times seems to stand still.
