Pointside is an elegant semi-detached period holiday home that enjoys a fantastic position next to the river in Helford.

The porch leads from the front garden to a comfortable living room with linen sofas and natural wood floor. There is a woodburner and a TV with DVD. The large kitchen/diner is well-equipped and benefits from two separate ovens and a long pine table with views of the river to enjoy as you dine.

A walk-through study area leads to a children’s room/conservatory with a large comfy seating area with a TV and a utility room with a washer/dryer and freezer. French doors open onto a small courtyard with a barbecue, and steps lead to the upper deck with garden furniture and views down the river.

Stairs from the sitting room go up to a main bedroom with a kingsize bed, en-suite shower room, and river views from all three windows as you lie in bed. Along the landing there is a family bedroom with 2’6” bunks and a 2’6” single bed, a bathroom with bath and overhead shower, and a sweet and sunny twin room.

At the bottom of the front garden is the coastal footpath, and below this are steps down to a shingly beach where there is an outhaul with a 10’ Anarth rowing dinghy for guests to row around the creeks. The rowing boat can also be left on the owner’s pontoon at the Point which gives you access to the water at all times. A lovely property in a very special location. Excellent WiFi and really helpful to have a space for someone to work.

Mrs W,

a very lovely cottage, the location is second to none, very comfortable and welcoming.

Mrs C,

Pointside has the best location on the Helford River. Wake up to views across the river and launch your paddle board from the adjacent foreshore. I wish I could live there all the time.

Mr H,

Beautiful house in a fantastic location. We didn’t need to use our car all week (a relief as the parking and vehicle access to the house is very narrow and awkward).

Mrs D,

Helford is an idyllic little village set on the Helford River, just south of Falmouth. The area is blessed with stunning scenery – beautiful countryside, glorious walks following the meandering river and a plethora of quiet little coves and bays along the coast.

The whole region is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a number of picturesque villages and hamlets dotted throughout the landscape. Whether you stay in Helford village, Maenporth, Gweek, Coverack, Manaccan, Flushing or Porthallow, each has its own charm and character, with thatched and white-washed cottages a real feature. Why not explore all of them, sampling the quintessentially English village pubs along the way!

Helford is situated on the east coast of the Lizard Peninsula, with Lizard Point a must-see attraction. Other great days out in the area include the Seal Sanctuary, the sub-tropical paradise of Trebah Gardens and firm family favourite, Flambards. The nearby towns of Porthleven and Helston offer restaurants, supermarkets and pubs and, of course, the harbour town of Falmouth is just up the coast, providing for all your shopping needs, excursions and more.
