Description

Chy Kala literally translates to 'straw house' and this lovingly designed property has been constructed using the eco-friendly straw-bale method. Reviews

Lovely, clean property, well-equipped kitchen and spotless pots and pans, comfy beds and cosy wood burner. Very much enjoyed the welcome pack provided. Cornish Horizons staff were friendly and efficient. Communication was good. Would recommend.

Miss C Kingshott,

Lovely warm, homely house. Felt like home from home. Great weather for October. Fab to sit in the garden and look at the stars. Enjoyed trips to Falmouth, St Ives, Poldhu Cove and Church Cove where a photo shoot took place for Poldark! Enjoyed the burger night at the Prince of Wales pub over the road. Thanks for a great holiday x

The Hayes family,

Had a great two week holiday, the boys loved staying here. Many thanks.

The Bedford family,

Great stay at Chy Kala. Lovely comfortable stay and great base to explore the area. We had a couple of great meals at The Prince of Wales pub over the road. Thank you Mark for your hospitality, we'll be back! :-)

The Kneale and Palin families,

Very much enjoyed our stay here. Chy Kala was a comfortable base for a two-week exploration of the southeast path. Weather fantastic - too hot if anything! Pub over the road is very nice as is The Halzephron Inn at Gunwalloe. Thank you for the wonderful scones with jam and clotted cream. A nice touch, and strawberries were lovely too.

Nick and Christine,

Chy Kala was a well-equipped, comfortable and attractive base for a two-week holiday around our sons wedding at a venue nearby. It was a very good place to stay in order to access so many local beauty spots and attractions and great to return to at the end of a sunny day. Also, a very interesting and impressive house in terms of its eco-friendliness and self-sufficiency in terms of heating and hot water. Will definitely recommend it to friends.

Last and Osler families,

A beautiful property in a stunning location. A lovely place to explore The Lizard.

Mrs Gardiner,

Beautiful property! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. Chy Kala is a beautiful house with lots of attention to detail to make it feel like a home. We wish we were still there thank you!

Miss Sophie Martin,

A really good property, with plenty of space. We loved its eco-friendliness!

Mr John Ingram,

Map

Helford is an idyllic little village set on the Helford River, just south of Falmouth. The area is blessed with stunning scenery – beautiful countryside, glorious walks following the meandering river and a plethora of quiet little coves and bays along the coast.

The whole region is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a number of picturesque villages and hamlets dotted throughout the landscape. Whether you stay in Helford village, Maenporth, Gweek, Coverack, Manaccan, Flushing or Porthallow, each has its own charm and character, with thatched and white-washed cottages a real feature. Why not explore all of them, sampling the quintessentially English village pubs along the way!

Helford is situated on the east coast of the Lizard Peninsula, with Lizard Point a must-see attraction. Other great days out in the area include the Seal Sanctuary, the sub-tropical paradise of Trebah Gardens and firm family favourite, Flambards. The nearby towns of Porthleven and Helston offer restaurants, supermarkets and pubs and, of course, the harbour town of Falmouth is just up the coast, providing for all your shopping needs, excursions and more.
