Located in a picturesque village in Cornwall’s beautiful Lizard Peninsula, this spacious eco-house is a fabulous holiday home for all seasons. With a wood burner for warm winter evenings and a garden for summertime lounging and dining, it’s a great choice for friends and families of all ages, close to beaches, country walks and a variety of attractions.

Lovingly designed to complement its rural surroundings, the detached house was built using straw-bales and hand-crafted timbers, with incredible attention to detail. Underfloor heating ensures that the ground floor always feels warmly welcoming. The pretty kitchen/breakfast room is kitted out with everything you’ll need for holiday meals, including a dishwasher and microwave, and the lounge/diner is a bright and spacious room with comfortable sofas, a wood burner, a TV and French doors to the garden. A hand-built oak staircase takes you to the first floor, where a generously sized landing features a balcony with views over the garden and countryside. The double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and a TV, and there are two twin rooms which share a family bathroom. Outside, the lawned garden also has a paved patio with outdoor furniture, making this an ideal spot for alfresco drinks and meals.

This beautiful holiday home is in Newtown-in-St Martin, close to a 16th century, family-friendly pub that serves excellent food, and just 8 miles from Helston, where there are supermarkets, shops and restaurants - and Flambards, an excellent family theme park. Explore the glorious countryside of the Lizard, including hidden coves and sandy beaches, dramatic walks along the coast path and pretty hamlets and villages. Don’t miss the ice cream at Roskilly’s, 6 miles, Lizard Point, 8.5 miles, and the sub-tropical paradise of Trebah Garden, 11 miles, where you’ll also find a secluded beach and adventure play areas.

We found Chy Kala to be one of the nicest properties we have stayed in. Cream tea laid out on arrival, thank you. Mark the owner very helpful, I did manage to lock myself out! We visited Eden project, excellent, and the lost gardens. Last visited 20 years ago, amongst walking around pretty villages. Weather very mixed, but always warm and comfy Read moreinside. Had a nice meal in the pub opposite. Hide
