Property code: OC-RENCOT

Step back in time on a holiday in this chocolate-box cottage in the romantic coastal village of Cadgwith. The property is the perfect, secluded base for couples looking to explore The Lizard Heritage Coast. The village has a picturesque, shingle beach where you can share a picnic and paddle in the water, and from here you can stride out along the South West Coast Path to explore the surrounding, breathtaking coastline.

The cute cottage has bags of personality, with original beams and whitewashed stonework throughout. Enter into the compact kitchen, which has been carefully designed to include everything you need to rustle up a tasty meal for two. Two steps lead from here to the sweet lounge/diner, where you can dine together at the table and snuggle up on the sofa to warm your toes by the wood burner. A winding, wooden staircase with a rope handrail leads to the pretty double bedroom in the eaves. A small bathroom completes the accommodation (this is a characterful, period property, and you may experience restricted head height in some areas). There is no outside space with this property. However, the nearby beach and coastal paths ensure you’ll have ample space to stretch your legs during your stay.

The tiny fishing village of Cadgwith is virtually unspoilt, with thatched cottages clinging to the cliffs, colourful fishing boats bobbing in the harbour, and a cosy pub where locals regularly gather to sing sea shanties. From the village, the rugged coast path leads to Lizard Point (4 miles), the most southerly part of mainland Britain. Due to its unique climate, it’s a great place to spot rare birds and plants. Another must for the itinerary is the magical Kynance Cove (4.5 miles), with its white sand, turquoise waters, and serpentine rock formations.
