Holiday Cottages by the Sea

The very name ‘Cornwall’ summons up images of broad sandy bays and rugged shingle coves - It’s a fabulous destination and understandably one of the UK’s favourite spots. A self-catering holiday home is a fantastic way to take advantage of everything that Cornwall has to offer, providing the freedom to explore in your own time, as well as a one-of-a-kind accommodation to come home to.

Our collection of hand-picked cottages with sea views are perfect for a coastal getaway, whether you’re planning a break with a larger party, looking for a family holiday, or simply fancy a cosy retreat for two.

Book Your Cornish Holiday Home with Sea Views

We offer more than 400 properties with stunning views of the Cornish coastline and local beaches. Do you fancy stepping back in time with a stay in a cosy harbourside fisherman’s cottage? Perhaps a modern marina - or beach-side apartment - is more to your taste? Or how about a larger country house with expansive estuary views, as well as your own pool?

The cottages you’ll find listed here have unforgettable sea, river or estuary views. Many of our properties are also dog-friendly, meaning that both you and your pet can wake to stunning views of the Cornish coast, before embarking on a refreshing morning walk and breakfast by the sea.

Once you have started your day in the Cornish sun, it’s up to you whether you decide to explore the wider area, try your hand at Cornwall’s various water sports or simply unwind on the beach – the choice really is yours!

Visiting the Cornish Coast

There are hundreds of beaches to explore in this south-western tip of our island, whether your taste is for a traditional ‘bucket and spade’-type holiday or a get-away-from-it-all adventure. Our Cornwall Beach Guide offers tips of places to go, whether you fancy rockpooling or sailing, and our Sealife Guide will help you identify some of the local wildlife that you might spy in the waves.

There are also some sublime walks to discover along the coast while on your holiday in Cornwall, each with their own individual characteristics and levels of difficulty.

  • The South West Coast Path is the UK’s longest national trail and weaves around the Cornish coast, revealing myths and legends, ancient mines and, of course, dark tales of shipwrecks and skulduggery. One of our favourite stretches is between Polzeath and Rock which provides views of the breathtaking Camel Estuary on one side and vast green fields on the other.
  • There are vistas aplenty on the Fowey Hall Walk, with spectacular views across the River Fowey and Fowey Harbour. The full, circular walk is four miles long, takes in two ferry crossings and takes 2.5 hours to complete.
  • Looking for something that’s more off-the-beaten-track? A well-kept secret is the West Pentire peninsula with its panoramic coastal views across Crantock to Trevose Head. In early summer the headland is alive with drifts of poppies and wildflowers.

There are different walking routes to choose from here. One takes you around the headland to Holywell Bay; alternatively, head to the golden sandy beaches of Porth Joke or Crantock. Be sure to stop at the Bowgie Inn for refreshments en route – as with many of our Cornish cottages by the sea, the views will stop you in your tracks!
