Description

Lovely views and a fantastic location (beach 2 minutes and right next to Trevose golf course) are yours at The Redlands.  This is a lovely, spacious Edwardian home, furnished in a comfortable 'country house' style with a number of antiques and items of interest. Located on the promontory of Trevose Head only two minutes' walk to Mother Ivey's Bay, ten minutes' walk to Booby's Bay and right next to the championship golf course of Trevose Golf and Country Club.  Picture windows from the first floor lounge take maximum advantage of the lovely views in two directions towards Booby's Bay and Mother Ivey's Bay.  The well-maintained and attractive grounds which extend to an acre include a sunken patio area and are sheltered in part by trees and shrubs. The Redlands has a wonderful relaxed feel about it and makes an ideal home from home for a large family or couples on a golfing break.  The headland is the highest point of land for miles and consequently the views from there are just stunning.  Also on the headland will be found the lifeboat station and Trevose lighthouse - if they are open they are well worth a visit.  Right next door (but completely separate) to The Redlands is Redlands Coachouse which sleeps 2.

Lounge: Attractive fireplace, open fire, TV, DVD player, lovely views.
Bedroom 1: Super kingsize bed (6' - may be unlinked to become 3' twin), built in wardrobe, bedside cupboards, chest of drawers, armchair, trouser press, hair dryer.
Bedroom 2: Kingsize bed (5'), built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cupboards
Bathroom: Bath, basin, w.c.

GARDEN & PARKING: Parking for a number of cars. The garden extends to over an acre and is divided by walls, shrubs, hedges and flower beds but still has a big lawned area - great for children's ball games. There are slate paved areas, garden furniture including folding loungers and a stile from the rear of the garden of the adjoining cottage (see Redlands Coachouse) leads to a footpath which takes you in less than 2 minutes to the beach - a wonderful cove with golden sand and protected by cliffs on either side.  
  
Changeover Day: Friday - arrival - 3:00pm - departure -10:00am.
Security Deposit: £250.
Pets Welcome: Maximum 2; £25 per pet per week. Information about bringing your pet.
Power and Heat: Electricity and gas included in rent; open fire sitting room; gas c.h./hot water (c.h. provided mid-September to end of April otherwise £100 p.w. extra); electric panel heaters for summer use; heated towel rails bathrooms.
Bedding and Linen: Bed linen and towels provided (please bring your own beach towels).  Please request unlinked beds in Bed.1 in advance.
Baby Equipment:  Travel cot (linen not included), high chair; other equipment may be hired - see hire page.

Local Area

Stunning panoramic views can be seen from Trevose Head, which is the highest point of land along the North Cornish coast.  This vantage point allows you to see, on a clear day, many miles along the shoreline, and indeed nearly all the way along the entire length of coastline, from the border with Devon down to Pendeen Head west of St Ives. The Head and surrounding area is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and is also home to many seabirds, whose keening cries can be heard for miles around.  Walkers will love exploring the rugged cliffs, where you can see some of the most spectacular scenery in the county, capturing the essence of this area.  Some of the birds that nest here include fulmar, guillemot and razorbill. Also recommended is a visit to the Trevose Lighthouse, and the lifeboat station on the opposite side of the headland, a reminder of the extraordinary work done by the lifeboat volunteers around this wild and rocky coastline. The main beaches along the headland are Constantine Bay, Mother Ivey's Bay and Booby's Bay.  When conditions on Booby's Bay are right, it is possible to see the remains of a wrecked ship looming up out of the sand (though this is often buried when sea currents cause the sand to shift).
