Named after Newland Island which is about 1 km off Pentire Head and where the poet Laurence Binyon wrote 'For the Fallen' in 1914 and you can even spot the plaque with the poem inscribed if you are walking the Coastal Path. This pet friendly, comfortable and spacious property offers far reaching views over the surrounding countryside and a stunning coastal vista. Surrounded by a substantial shared garden that offers little pockets of privacy you can enjoy lounging in the sun reading a good book, soaking up the relaxing atmosphere. Inside the bedrooms and bathroom can be found on the ground floor, leaving upstairs with an open plan dining and lounge area which opens out onto a balcony with outdoor chairs where you can admire the sunset after a day of exploring the many golden beaches only a short drive away or walking the nearby Coastal Path.
This property offers a small group discount of 20% on full weekly bookings for parties of 2 or less at certain times of the year which means that bedroom 2 is unavailable to use. Not sure where to leave post on your Facebook page but just wanted to tell you that we have just spent a glorious week at your Newlands property. The apartment is very comfortable and clean with lovely views and a great location. The caretaker Janet was very helpful and friendly and the owner kindly gave us another night's stay when our arrival was delayed by a day. Would recommend this property very highly

St Merryn is a hidden gem located within easy reach of the stunning coast of North Cornwall, with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, helpful local convenience stores and delis, and a wide variety of places to eat. Sometimes overlooked, due to the proximity of the larger town of Padstow just ten minutes' drive away, St Merryn is nevertheless a great holiday setting in its own right, its convenient location and many amenities attracting visitors back year after year. Known as the 'Seven Bays' area due to the number of beaches along this part of the coastline, you know you are approaching the village when you see the 'Seven Bays for Seven Days' signs on the road heading in. If it's a walking holiday you are looking for, St Merryn is an excellent choice, being near to beaches, cliffs and fields, where lovely views entice you from your holiday home and into the great outdoors. And of course, if you have a four legged family member, they will love it too! There is also a riding stables nearby if you've always wanted to explore the area on horseback (a wonderful way to see the stunning local scenery).
